Today we’d like to introduce you to Legendary $ilk.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Well, I didn’t start making music until my junior year of college. I was on the football team the first two years and decided to quit after the first game of my junior season. I would never thought I would be a rapper if you asked me two years ago but it just happened. Really started off as a hobby with my friends. My boy Kenneth was the main person in my ear telling me to give it a try.
So I recorded my first song called “TTG” featuring BigBruthaChuba. At the time he was apart of Lil Yachty Sailing Team. At first, people couldn’t take me serious rapping and thought it was a joke until the song dropped. Three months later I opened up for Gucci Mane in Knoxville for “Boxing Weekend”. Later that summer I opened up for Lil Uzi on his tour. Then my senior year of college I kinda took some time off music. I was letting the hype get to me and I didn’t drop as much. Now that I am back in Georgia its been music 24/7. I am about to drop my first project “El Papi $ilk” May 31st. Been working on the project for about a year now. Couldn’t done it without AG, Primo, Carter, Koree, Jrich and Chad Neo.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Hell no it has been many ups and downs so far. I had to figure out who really wanted to see me win or here to just ride along the journey. I had to watch my brother AG get his logo “Legendary” design taken by Rue 21. Just being young and not knowing enough about the business aspect. I seen him put his heart and soul into them designs since 2016, just for Rue 21 to take it and make millions of dollars. That whole situation made me realize how important the business side is to the industry. I recently got my trademark and LLC in my name Legendary $ilk to avoid any conflict in the future.
What else should we know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I work alongside with my brother AG company “Last Living Legend”. Which I model for him and also wear his clothes in my music videos and shows. I help develop the brand through networking in the music industry. Whats set us apart from everybody else that we are unique and have our own style.
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
Honestly, I wouldn’t do anything different; I learned from all my mistakes so far. With everything, I been through I feel that it made me wiser and smarter in the long run.
