Today we’d like to introduce you to Javier and Alejandro Sedano.
Javier and Alejandro, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
We started our brand, No Hearts No Love, a little over a year ago in February 2018. We started the clothing brand because we couldn’t really find clothes that we liked and fit our style. So, we decided to make our own clothes. When we first started out, we just had in mind to become a clothing brand. But as we have continued this journey we have been looking at ways to expand our brand, as of now we have built our own photography studio, but are looking into getting into different creative areas such as music, videography, art, or whatever other crazy ideas we may have.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
The road definitely has not been as smooth as we thought it would be. We have committed a ton of mistakes, but we don’t look at them as mistakes, we see them as lessons. Some of the struggles have been from, over ordering merchandise, ordering clothes and receiving them and it not looking like we expected, but all of these things have been nothing that we couldn’t bounce back from. Another struggle we had starting out was learning how to use photoshop, illustrator, photography and even building our website. We have been doing everything on our own and there have been a lot of long nights, but it’s amazing to look back and see how much we have grown. We always have to remind ourselves that there’s beauty in the struggle.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the No Hearts No Love story. Tell us more about the business.
Our business as of now is a clothing brand. But we plan on expanding it too many different areas. What we do at, No Hearts No Love is design and sell streetwear apparel. We are known for our simplistic designs and quality clothing. We are most proud of the quality that we offer. We have been told by our customers that they are really impressed by the quality of our clothing. They can’t believe that such a new brand has such top quality. What sets us apart is how simple our designs look, the quality of our clothes, interaction with our customers and our brand name.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
We don’t really believe in luck, good or bad. Of course, there are bumps in the road that people look at as bad luck. But we don’t let any negativity or setbacks (bad luck) stop us from moving forward with what we want to do. We believe in putting in the work in order to become successful which people associate to being lucky. So, we don’t really believe that good or bad luck has played a role in our life and business. Everything that we have been through has been exactly how it was meant to play out, good or bad.
