Today we’d like to introduce you to Asia Comans.
Asia, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I never grew up thinking I would be a photographer. Fashion was my first love. Since I was a teenager, I just knew I would be doing something fashion. Photography didn’t sit in my heart until sophomore year of college. It really started because I didn’t want to depend on anyone to take my pictures on projects I was working on.
Summer of 2015 is when Azn Visuals was born. Azn coming from Asian, which comes from a name joke and the fact people say I look Asian. yeah, it’s a lot.
Once I picked up the camera, I ran with it. Started off taking landscape pictures to covering media events in the same summer. When I returned to Atlanta for school that fall, my momentum didn’t stop. I covered school events as well as picking up videography and really doing coverage for shows and local events. Throughout the rest of college, I held internships and ventured into new aspects of photography and videography, adding graphic design to my resume as well. Am I still into fashion? Of course, always will be. I just had to venture out and extend my resume a bit.
I say all that to show how I steered through many lanes in this road of life (still am!) to figure out where I want to be. All without a regret in the world.
Has it been a smooth road?
Has it ever been easy for anybody? That’s crazy if so. Many nights of staying up late editing videos or doing homework late because I put my photography first. I’ve also questioned myself wondering if this is really the career path I want to take.

Azn Visuals was founded in 2015 and offers photography, videography, graphic design and wardrobe styling.
In October 2017, I did a durag photo shoot that definitely grabbed more attention towards Azn Visuals. I did the styling and photography and from there stemmed the Azn Visuals durags.
The biggest accomplishment that I’m most proud of is the Azn Visuals print hanging in the Trap Music Museum today. It’s part of the 2 Chainz’ Trap installation. It’s so awesome knowing my work is part of such a huge and impactful movement. I love when I drive by and see the line to get in is still wrapped around the building.
I like colors and I like bright things. Mix that together with streetwear, hip hop and everything culturally inclined you get Azn Visuals.
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Atlanta is the Mecca of startups for young entrepreneurs. I don’t think there’s anywhere else in the world that has business brunches, panel discussions, and networking events every single day of the week. There’s opportunity everywhere in Atlanta and if you can’t find one, you make one. That’s how everyone with a business in Atlanta operates.
