Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Jessica Houston.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Dr. Houston. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I am a licensed social worker. I had worked in the field of social work for a little over ten years when I started to feel like something was missing. I enjoyed what I did. In fact, I could do social work in my sleep. However, I could not ignore the fact that I was not being challenged enough. I went through the process of trying to figure out what direction to go in and I did not run across any ideas that I was passionate about. Finally, I remembered the idea that popped into my mind years ago about writing a book. As soon as it popped into my mind again, I came up with several reasons why it was not a good idea.
However, one morning around 3:00 am, I woke up and wrote down the title and chapters of the book that I knew I needed to write. The book was titled Women’s Secrets: It’s Time to Stop Suffering in Silence. I realized that it was time for me to be honest about the fact that I had worn a mask of happiness for years. From that day forward, I knew that my experiences were not for me, but for other women. As a result of me taking such a bold step, I discovered my purpose and ultimately opened the doors of my business. Today, I travel nationally and internationally, providing coaching and consulting services to corporations, non-profit organizations, colleges, and faith-based institutions. I also just finished writing my second book!
Has it been a smooth road?
My journey has not been smooth. Having a social work background, I would always believe that people could not afford my rates, so I struggled with charging my worth. I also found myself investing thousands of dollars in programs and courses that did not give me a good return on my investment. However, I eventually figured out who I was called to serve and how to market my products and services. Because of my experience with the coaching industry, I am committed to making sure that I give my clients more than they expect to receive as a result of working with me.

My company is two-fold. We provide personal development and professional development training. We equip our clients with research-based strategies and practical tools that ultimately help them resolve the challenges that have been impeding their growth. I am known for coaching and training. I am a certified personal and executive coach. I also have over 10 years of training and consulting experience.
As a company, I am most proud of our integrity and ability to over-deliver on our promises. Being a Christian based consulting company definitely sets me apart from others. While I do not force my beliefs on anyone, they definitely guide my decisions and actions on a daily basis.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I love the opportunity to meet like-minded people. I also like the fact that there is always something to do. What I like least is the traffic.
