So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Sophie Rose Candle Co. began on my journey to holistic health and an unwillingness to kick my candle addiction. After amassing an extensive candle collection, I realized that they were only aesthetically appealing to me. I was unable to enjoy the candles when lit due to the overbearing, headache-inducing fragrances. I decided to research exactly what these candles contained and was blown away. The typical candles on the market are loaded with carcinogens, chemically-laced fragrance oils, toxic metal core wicks, and paraffin wax which is a byproduct of crude oil. Disgusting right? Armed with this information and my personal love for candles along with the need to keep my space safe and free from toxins, I curated my first line of Eco-friendly nontoxic candles. Sophie Rose Candle Co. was born out of the demand for my healthy candles as referred to by family and friends.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
For the most part, the road has been pretty smooth. The biggest challenge I faced was scaling my business in order to meet the demand for my products.

Sophie Rose Candle Co.’s intention is to inspire, motivate and evoke feelings of well-being through pleasantly scented soy candles and other home fragrance products. Each and every one of our candles is hand-poured in small batches and handcrafted with precision. We craft our candles with 100% pure domestically grown soy wax, the best quality essential and phthalate free fragrance oils, and all natural lead and zinc free cotton wicks to ensure a clean burn. Our candles are non-toxic – free from dyes, carcinogens, and pollutants.

What sets Sophie Rose Candle Co. apart from others is that we want our products to be enjoyed with meaningful purpose; therefore, we ensure that our products are both Eco-friendly and vegan-friendly. Sustainability is a priority interest for Sophie Rose Candle Co. so we strongly encourage the re-purposing of our product containers.

As a company, I am most proud of the genuine connections we make with our customers whom I affectionately refer to as Rose Buds. Our purpose is reaffirmed each time a Rose Bud allows us to fill their safe space with aromatic awesomeness.

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Perseverance and being extremely focused has been essential to my success. To see my company come to fruition and now to witness its growth has been the engine that keeps me pushing forward.
