Marie, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Ria’s Beauty Collection began in 2015. After numerous unsuccessful attempts in locating skin care products that benefited my skin condition, my youngest daughter suggested that I should make my own skin care products. This was the best suggestion ever.
It gives me such joy to be able to produce my own products, and it also gives me great pleasure to know that my products are benefitting others.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
In the beginning, it was definitely a rough road. During the business process, you’re in the learning phase of the do’s and don’ts. There’s also a lot of research involved. It also reminds me of the constant fluctuation of the stock market.
Struggles:

3. Trying to do everything myself.
4. Constantly being overwhelmed.
5. Uncertain about funds for the ongoing operation of the business.

Please tell us more about your work, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
I am the owner and CEO of Ria’s Beauty Collection. My job involves being responsible for managerial decisions and making sure Ria’s Beauty Collection continues to operate smoothly on a daily basis.
We specialize in skincare and haircare products. Our specialty is Ria’s Whipped Shea Butter which is a dual moisturizer for the skin and hair.
We are known for our handmade, natural, and scented whipped Shea Butter. Our customers love the scented whipped formula, and they love how it benefits their skin and hair. Our products are for everyone of all skin types.
I’m proud that I finally gained the confidence to pursue Ria’s Beauty Collection. We have been in business for three years thus far. The third year has been tremendous growth for the company overall.
This makes me very proud to know that I can go into the store and demonstrate our products, restock when needed, and observe my products on the shelves. What a great feeling this is!
These are products that I’ve created which are an extension of myself. Valuable time, care, patience, and love are applied to our products. I enjoy doing what I do and making sure that others are benefitting along the way.
We also believe in giving back to the community by sponsoring, donating, vending, collaborating, giveaways, etc.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I don’t look at it as luck. If it’s meant to be, it will happen eventually.
My youngest daughter played a role by making the suggestion, and I decided to take it further. Even though I was hesitant from the beginning, I believe Ria’s Beauty Collection was meant to happen.
Also, my amazing team, customers, retailers, publishers, social media, critics, and others play an important part in our business being a success. Without them, it’s impossible. Thanks to everyone one for supporting Ria’s Beauty Collection.
