I grew up with a love for the magic of Disney. The parks, the movies, the characters, the stories we all know so well. After many trips to Disney World, I began to figure out my own personal tips and tricks for managing the parks. I would share these with friends and family members in an effort to help in their vacation planning. In June of 2018, I was connected with the owners of Pixie Travel, a Disney Vacation Planning Agency based in Dunwoody and immediately knew I wanted to be a part of it. As a stay at home mom to three boys five and under, I love being able to run my own business out of my home on my time. In addition to Disney World vacations, I also plan Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, Disney’s Aulani Resort in Hawaii, Adventures by Disney, Universal, and Royal Caribbean Cruise Line vacations.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It’s been a learning process to manage a growing business during a physically hands-on season of parenting. Juggling client needs while making peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and replying to emails during nap time has taken some practice, but thankfully, I have a husband that supports my business and enables me to focus on work during the busy times. As a wife and a mom to three young children, this is a common struggle among women in my season of life. Young women struggle with this before even starting a family. My advice would be to take the job. Make the move. Ask for the raise. Take a seat at the table. When the day comes that you do have little hands reaching for you, know that it is possible to do both. My business allows me to have a professional outlet that makes a lasting impact on families- even if I take business calls in the preschool car line.

I plan custom Disney vacations to make a lasting impact and create lifelong memories. My services are complimentary as I’m paid by Disney at no added cost to your vacation. I add value to my clients’ vacations while taking away stress in the planning. Disney World evokes nostalgia like none other to so many people, but unfortunately, it can get overshadowed by the weight of the planning process and the science of navigating the parks. Families save for years to give their kids the Disney vacation of their dreams. Things like a missed dining reservation, not knowing how to operate Disney’s Fast Pass system, or a park being maxed out during the holidays can quickly turn a dream vacation into a nightmare. My job is to work with clients and walk them through each step in the planning process to turn their Disney dreams into a reality. From crowd calendars to resort selection to dining and fast pass reservations- I plan it all based on my clients’ preferences, budget, and family needs.
Often it feels as if the media, by and large, is only focused on the obstacles faced by women, but we feel it’s important to also look for the opportunities. In your view, are there opportunities that you see that women are particularly well positioned for?
Now is possibly the greatest time in history to be a woman. We can stand at the podium and take a seat at the board table. Our voices are heard and our opinions matter. A great leader knows when to speak up and when to listen and I think women are great at discerning between the two. I would encourage young women to lean into the opportunities you’re given. Don’t second guess yourself. Seek out wisdom from women who have gone before you and don’t tear down the women beside you. We’re all on the same team to keep moving forward.
