Today we’d like to introduce you to Jamelia Favors.
Jamelia, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I started out as this quiet, shy little girl that had these big ideas, I just needed the voice to make myself heard. I eventually got out of that shy stage and I got loud. I always knew I wanted to be an entrepreneur and do things my own way, so I got older and I went for it!
I wanted to learn the game and teach it to my peers. I officially got involved in real estate in 2018 and have since then been establishing my brand and creating a platform to build generational wealth. When I say wealth, I don’t just mean financial, I mean educational as well. I want my son, and my sons’ children to understand what it means to own a business and build something bigger than yourself. I’m taking the Realtor approach now, but my overall goal is to become a Real Estate Investor and Coach and pour into my community as much as it has poured into me.
I also started my own home making candle business. I started making soy candles in 2016 and have since then perfected my craft. I have various colors and scents that I switch them up with the seasons. Check us out on Instagram at crescent_candles!
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It took me several years to truly determine what I wanted to do with my life, but I feel like I’ve finally found my calling. I love helping people, I love engaging with the people and what better way to serve than by being an advocate for them in the biggest transaction some will ever make. It hasn’t always been a smooth road. You know the game of sales. One month, you can sell five homes and the next six months, nothing. You have to put in the work to see the reward. Even if I don’t get the sell in the end, I enjoy meeting new people along the way. Building relationships is key.

The Standard Realty Group (TSRG) is a realty group under the brokerage, iBuyiSell Realty, we are Real Estate Professionals that specialize in buying, selling, renting and investing. We are known for our excellent service and dedication. We walk our clients through the process from contract to close and ensure that they’re always satisfied. My clients never feel like they’re alone during this sometimes-stressful process. I feel that what sets me apart from others is my attitude and my willingness to go above and beyond for the people that trust me to look out for their best interest. I’m an extremely positive person, I don’t let my clients stress or worry over issues that may arise. I handle them efficiently. My clients trust me to always look out for their best interest and that’s exactly what I do. I like to think that I am raising the standard.
Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
I’ve had many supporters, it’s hard to name them all! My family and my amazing friends have always had my back. Whichever route I wanted to take, I’ve always had their support, whether it came to selling candles or selling houses they were there. My family literally stopped buying store brand candles, now they buy them from me almost in bulk. My biggest supporters are my son, Jayden and my very best friend Alonzo. They’re my go to guys for motivation. Having Jayden my last year in college showed me that anything is possible, and I’m striving to show him the same. He has changed my life completely.
