Today we’d like to introduce you to Jasmine Barnard and Kailyn Rivers.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Jasmine, Kailyn. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
The smiles. The laughter. The offbeat dance moves. Watching people genuinely enjoy themselves and the company of their family and friends, are all the things that inspired me to start up Mixed and Pour Decisions Mobile bartender services. Originally, working at different bars, part-time was solely about making extra money, but it wasn’t long before bartending became more than just another source of income. After a few months of experience, bartending had become a passion of mine and something I truly enjoyed, something I had not felt, working other jobs. To most, I’m just a girl in all black pouring drinks at the bar, but to my customers, I’m so much more. To the guy who opened up about his thoughts of suicide, after a few drinks, I’m a therapist. To the 21-year-old, whose lost and confused about their purpose in life, I am a life coach. To the man who just went through a recent breakup and just want to vent, I am a listening ear. I have cried with my customers, I have laughed with my customers, I have celebrated with my customers, and I have enjoyed every moment of it. I enjoyed what I did so much, I decided I wanted more than just being a part-time bartender for other companies. I wanted my own bartending service. I didn’t want to miss an opportunity of celebrating with my people, so I decided it was best to be a mobile bartender. No matter the place or time, I will come to you.
This new business adventure has allowed me so many opportunities and has put me in touch with so many people. Out of all the benefits I found of owning my own bartending service, being able to spend quality time with my 7-year-old daughter and watch her share in my passion with me has been my biggest blessing. Watching me stay up late nights preparing for parties the next day, spark her interest and it wasn’t long before she became my little assistant. I will be up to making frozen drinks and treats and she would always want to taste them, so I would make her a non-alcoholic version of the drink, which then gave us the idea of catering to kid’s parties. So far, Kailyn and I have catered 6 kids parties since February 2019 and have done 2 pop-up shops. Teaching her life skills, such as customer service, running a business, time management, and financial literacy, are all things that will prepare her for the future. This is only the beginning for us, but this mother-daughter duo is here to stay!
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Some of the struggles I encountered was feeling like I didn’t have enough support for my daughter when I turned my business into something for the kids as well.

I Mix and Pour while YOU make the DECISION. I am a Mobile Bartending service that specializes in serving alcoholic beverages and treats. When it’s for the kids my daughter and I make nonalcoholic beverages and treats for the kids. I am proud that I turned something I really love into my very own business. This business is different from others because there are a lot of bartenders but when I found a way that I could cater to kids and adults all in one setting I knew we were different.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I am looking forward to being booked and busy for adults and kid parties. I am looking to expand nothing only just in the Atlanta area but all over Georgia. I am also looking forward to being nationwide where I could travel and do events all over the world.
