Today we’d like to introduce you to Young Bam.
Young, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I am an independent artist based out of Decatur, GA from Glenwood. I was raised in a two parent home or an entire village I should rather say with support from my mother, father, aunts, uncles, grandparents, you name it. I started rapping at the age of 12, with an interest in writing poetry then watching Lil’ Bow Wow and other hip hop artist who were mainstream at the time, just made it look cool to rhyme. My family always taught me to be a man of understanding and believe none of what you hear and only half of what you see. I tried playing sports over the years but sports were never my thing and besides, I’ve always had a way of putting words together and creating good chemistry to make things flow. There have been times where I had to practice for talent shows and certain showcases over the years cause this is what I ultimately love doing. Throughout the years I’ve progressed, worked on perfecting my craft and being a student of the game as well. So, I just stayed down and kept at it to continue to do what I love and also being attentive to specific details or specific terminology being used when it comes to the business. With that being said, it just made me start taking the initiative to be more of an observer than a talker and allow the actions to speak louder than words, I keep my faith high in God, family, friends, & just life period which drives me to do what I love doing now and that’s creating music.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Of course not, will I say it never will be? Not at all, because you got to crawl before you walk and have to walk before you run. When you are an aspiring artist, chasing your dreams and doing what you love to do can be very challenging at times, but you can’t look forward to everything going your way. Struggles for me have become minor setbacks for major comebacks, but that didn’t and still will not deteriorate nor stop me from chasing my dreams.

Chasing Riches… that’s the family, the movement, the lifestyle! Like my brother, Justin McBean, stated we’re in pursuit of being wealthy in the mind, the body, & the spirit. We’re bigger than a label, it’s more of a genuine conglomerate, to be honest. Our main focus is mainly music because we all share the passion for it and this is what brought all of us together in the first place. We’re here to serve our purpose, make our mark, & leave a legacy behind that represents prosperity and hard work. My role within the company is to create timeless music, assist with the business ideas to further us as a company/brand, & also push the agenda that you can do whatever you love without going against your moral beliefs if you put your mind to it. I’m truly proud of the organic & genuine connection the team and myself have manifested into existence. My versatility, heart, spirit, humility as an artist, & the wittiness to motivate you to achieve your dreams are the things that truly set me apart from others!.
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
I would say coming home from school to jump on my trampoline in the backyard. I grew up watching power rangers and ninja turtles so you know how kids do try to do everything they see on TV. So, I enjoyed flipping. Once I hit my first front flip in elementary school, I probably was in the 2nd or 3rd grade, from that day forward I felt like the greatest flipper ever.
