Today we’d like to introduce you to Ahmad Barron.
Ahmad, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Six years ago my little sister Aquia Barron passed from Cerebral Palsy and that changed my life forever. Before the passing of my beautiful sister, I thought I knew everything at such a young age. I was getting involved in all the wrong things and taking a completely different path from what I raised to take. But getting involved in those negative activities wasn’t hard at all especially in the environment I grew up in with all the gang violence and more that I was surrounded by. Growing up, I always questioned “why couldn’t my sister be like everyone else or why couldn’t she do things that everyone else could do?” It was very heartbreaking seeing her not being able to enjoy The G1ft of life like a normal person. She couldn’t walk, couldn’t talk, couldn’t feed herself, and a lot more that she couldn’t do on her own. It all really took me for a loop. I didn’t realize the impact my sister had on my life until she left this earth. I am glad that I have finally launched my new brand G1fted Culture this year on my birthday January 28th. She is what inspired me to start this movement. For everything my little sister Aquia couldn’t do on this earth, it is my purpose to Do It For Aquia. Despite the disabilities that my little sister had, she was still a Very G1FTED Princess! Her smile and spirit was a G1ft, she could ignite anyone’s day.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has been very tough trying to balance my brand with being in college (Reinhardt University) and playing a sport(football) in college as well. Growing my brand has been kind of slow because of the lack of experience and still learning about being an entrepreneur. I am very G1fted at networking and communicating with others, so it will all work out. I want to gain as much knowledge as possible. I just have to be patient, “It’s a Marathon, not a Sprint”. Also financial wise, with what I want to do for my community, the youth, the ill, and more, it is going to cost. I am going to keep working and pushing so that I can make the biggest impact on my community and the world that I can. I am extremely blessed to have a strong support system behind me.
Please tell us about G1fted Culture.
My brand G1fted Culture is more than just a brand, it is a lifestyle and a daily inspiration to remind all people that they have a God-Given G1FT to shine in this world and to manifest their G1fts through clothing and more. My purpose is to serve others and inspire them to find out what is that GIFT and to live out that Gift everyday. Everyone on this planet has a Natural and powerful Gift to shine, but only those that keep God first and have enough courage to go against all odds will live out that GIFT. I want to empower the world to be the best version of themselves. It doesn’t matter if you grew in a tough environment, if you are homeless, or if you are handicap, you still have a G1ft. We are all Gifted in different areas, so we must not neglect our Gifts or be jealous of others. Your G1ft will make a way for you. What separates us is that we want to see everyone winning not just ourselves. We want to help everyone, just like God helps us every day. That is very uncommon in this life today. I am extremely proud of the support, the growth and the impact we are making everyday. You’re The G1fted One!
