Meet LIL PEEJ

Today we’d like to introduce you to LIL PEEJ.

LIL PEEJ, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I became interested in the music industry when I was 16 years old in high school. I loved the lifestyle and the idea that the artist lived by making music and performing all around the world. At the time, it was just a dream for me to actually make music and put it out for others to hear, but now it is slowly becoming a reality. The first time I recorded a song was at a graduation party at my friend’s house. I was just messing around with my friends’ studio until I made something that actually sounded good. At this moment I was shocked that I actually made something good and it showed me that I can really do this.I ended up creating a sound cloud and posting the song. I got positive feedback from people all around my area and it made me feel amazing. Since then, I have recorded many songs and published only four at the moment. My social media has been growing as well as my plays and streams for my songs on all platforms. My fan base is beginning to get much bigger and it seems to be the start of my journey. I plan to keep on recording music until I am at the top of the billboards and keep a positive image for all my fans.

Has it been a smooth road?
My journey has not been entirely smooth because I have had some issues with my private high school. Me and all my friends made a youtube channel called Benitez where we did pranks. The school caused seven of my best friends to leave. I was one of the only ones who did not leave the school, so I stayed for senior year. Seven of my friends left senior year for cussing in videos and doing dumb pranks, so that means I wasn’t able to cuss in my songs or be in YouTube videos for the entire school year. This was hard because it gave me so much anxiety about creating music because I did not know if I was going to be expelled or not. It definitely slowed down my work and made it hard for me to make music for a while, but now that I have graduated I am free and now doing better than ever.

Tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of and what sets you apart from others.
My name is Lil peej and that is also the name of my business. I create unique styled music and publish it for my fans to enjoy. I also keep a positive image of myself and want to spread positivity in the rap industry. I wanna make being kind a trend and end the trend of being fake to others. All throughout high school, I witnessed so many people just be fake to be cool, so I wanna be a voice to the youth about how to not care what people think. The thing I am most proud of is the music I create. The reason for that is because I spend so much time creating each song. It takes me days to write and produce some songs because I want it to be perfect every time. I never want to release a song that is only average and not a hit. The thing that sets me apart from the others is that I care so much about how I affect the youth. I wanna be a positive voice to show them not to care what people think about them. My music genre is also unique that I have my own style of music.

How do you, personally, define success? What’s your criteria, the markers you’re looking out for, etc?
I personally view success to where your career is not even a job for you, yet it is like a hobby. To be happy with what you do in life is so important to me. I also view success as being stable for yourself to where you are comfortable with money and not struggling. My personal goal in the future is to have several songs on the billboard as well as several platinum plaques. I would like to have a very big but loyal fan base to where I can have an impact on many people. I also would like to start a charity with my friends in the future when my business is big enough. I plan to have enough money so I can help others around me who need it in the future and be able to sustain myself.
