Today we’d like to introduce you to Peaches Monroee.
So, before we jump into specific questions about what you do, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Back in 2014, I came out with the phrase “eyebrows on fleek” from a 6-sec vine video. I literally did not know it would have become so big and change the culture. As time went on I decided why not make money off my word and actually brand it myself. Even though so many people are making money off of my word. So, I came up with On Fleek Extensions by Peaches Monroee for now, but I will be expanding to more things coming soon.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It was not a smooth road because I faced a lot of backlashes, criticism, and more. Especially since so many big brands and celebrities profited off my word except me. The advice I would give women and women that are starting is to not give up and do not believe everything you see on social media. Building a business takes time, hardwork, money, and dedication. It does not happen overnight and you will have some sleepless nights. But do not be afraid to fail and when you fail, fail forward, not backwards.
Please tell us more about your work, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
I am really known for creating “Eyebrows on fleek”, and just being overlooked for that. Some people are still rooting for me and have not forgotten about me either. As a brand, I am proud of not giving up and continuing to push myself regardless of the feedback and negativity.
Do you feel like there was something about the experiences you had growing up that played an outsized role in setting you up for success later in life?
I do feel like growing up my peers would always tell me: “You will be famous one day.” So, as they spoke that over me, it actually came true and I am so grateful for that.
