Meet Tyler Reid

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tyler Reid.

Tyler, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
My story may sound like “just another ordinary story”, but for the record; This is MY story… all of the lessons that life has taught me, all of the tough decisions that I’ve had to make, as well as all of the hard work that I’ve had to put in for this… this is what makes my story unique! It all started when I was young, wanting an urge to always be on the scene of all events in my community. (So, in other words… I guess you could call me the “mixy” friend, I’ll own that.) I always felt the need to portray myself in a way that has allowed me to present events in my community in a very luxurious type of way. This leads me to become a creative designer. I began taking classes learning basic instructions on how to navigate through Photoshop and the Adobe suite. (Special thanks to my professor: Jessica Sparks at Savannah State University.) Since then, I’ve gained the majority of my skills randomly exploring the different things Photoshop has to offer and using the infamous YouTube to find the answers to my open-ended questions that no one could answer for me.

Not to mention, my friends who always offer criticism and critiques; Chelsey Williams & Cordel Gordon; These are two of the most helpful people I’ve met in the industry of creative design and not to mention, they’re my real friends at that! Since then, I graduated from Savannah State and earned a bachelor degree in Communications with a focus in Public Relations & Advertising (I wanted to initially be a celebrity P.R. working with crisis management and speaking engagements for celebs, but it was the epiphany I had my senior year of college that lead me in a different way. Since graduating, that epiphany I had turned into something better than I could imagine. With the help of my department chair (Wanda Lloyd) she helped me network to become an event planner. Since then, I’ve worked with Atlanta’s most premier wedding & event planners. I am currently being mentored by two who I hold responsible for my knowledge and success, Jan Hill-McBee (@J.HillEvents) and Brian Green (@ByBrianGreen) working with these two had enabled me to enhance my expertise and experience to better myself as a premier planner.

Currently, I’ve become a Certified International Wedding & Event Planning Professional and have started my own business; Eminent Events, where I specialize in Luxury Weddings & Events and Destination Weddings. So, my story sounds all good, but there was one time when things weren’t so good. Just like any average college student, I struggled to find work for a while. This caused me to feel like I could never find a mean of financial stability, which stressed me out. I lashed out to friends who I felt looked for handouts from me and even found myself desperate for work. After taking time to better myself, perfect my craft, and comprehend my worth that God has given me, I can be a testimony to others who may be experiencing worse than I did. I’ve been achieving so much and am so thankful for my family, friends, and coworkers along the way who’ve helped me keep my thoughts together in building my own empire but I’m not done yet! There’s so much more in store!

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
My journey hasn’t been a smooth road, like any other successful businesses I’ve experienced many No’s and very few Yes’. Which is another reason why I chose to be an entrepreneur. I’ve never doubted anything I’ve invested in my business and wouldn’t change a thing. All I have, I have worked effortlessly for!

If I could give some advice, I would say TAKE YOUR TIME! I believe that it’s important to align all of your information & services (whatever the case may be) before you officially step out into the entrepreneurial industry.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Eminent Events Wedding & Event Planning & #TheTylerReidGraphics story. Tell us more about the business.
As an International Wedding & Event Planner, I specialize in Luxury Weddings & Events and Destination Weddings. Additionally, I work with large budgets in full-service planning & coordinating. Our mission is: “Meeting the Unconquerable”, I vow to make every event I trace nothing less of amazing. What sets me aside here is that every event you plan with me will be chic, modern, memorable, and fun!

In addition, I am a creative designer specializing in marketing production for corporate and modern companies and rebranding services. Anything you’d need for branding, I’ve got you covered! What makes my business different from anyone else’s is the fact that my services are affordable! Not cheap, but affordable!

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
The funny thing is, Luck has played a rather small role in my life & business. I’ve had to work for everything I have thus far, and am still working. If I had luck, you reading this right now would know who I am at this very moment. I’d be on your TV screens, hosting the most amazing events in the world.
