Meet Demetrius Williams of BVSEXNEVERAVG in Stone Mountain

Today we’d like to introduce you to Demetrius Williams.

So, before we jump into specific questions about what you do, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Clothing hasn’t always been my strong point. I simply wore graphic tees and regular button downs, etc. I wanted to create something of my own that depicted how I once lived in a trailer home in Twin City Georgia to now having my own apartment. Struggle doesn’t last forever. I started with simple images depicting this and created my own personal character called Po’boy. I then began to get more into street fashion and custom clothing and started to add more “drip” to my wardrobe. I later combined with my business partner Tim to make BASEXNEVERAVG. His creativity and artistic skills and my precision and creative thinking combined to spark the beginning of an artistic movement.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
“Without struggle, there is no progress” is a true statement. There have been many obstacles whether it had been finances, not being on the same page as others, designs that were not fully thought through or did not sell, etc. We learned from every obstacle and adjusted accordingly and are still adjusting.

Please tell us about BVSEXNEVERAVG.
We specialize in urban street fashion. The artistic expression on clothing made with care love and true passion. We are known for our unique style of placement and material usage and art on the clothing. I am proud of how the company has grown and to see the consistent development within the individuals part of it. We love what we do and love helping others get to where we are as well. Other companies may take advantage or not help the “competition” we don’t see competitors, we see opportunities, collaborations, community building and unifying each and every brand creating a fashion family.

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
My family lived on one street, being able to go up the road to see all my cousins and aunts and grandparents and all my friends. Playing at the park across the street from my aunt with everyone in the neighborhood.
