Meet Nam Nguyen of Super Pho in Duluth

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nam Nguyen.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Nam. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
We used to own a Pho restaurant in Connecticut then in Chicago, many years ago. We have been holding on to our recipe and we thought it was time to share it again by opening a Pho restaurant. It always brings us together as family and reminds us of the enriching tradition and Vietnamese culture. We got a group of family & friends together and that’s how we established Super Pho. We wanted to start from the roots, with family.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
As you can imagine, there were a lot of challenges in the beginning. Since we opened the business in the summer, we hired many college students. They were young, energetic but inexperienced and by the time they got familiar with their work, it was time for them to go back to school. So, we had to hire and train a new group of servers all over again. We had our key members but building a strong team was not easy. It took some trial and error.

Super Pho – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Super Pho is a Vietnamese restaurant. We specialize in Pho (Noodle Soup). We offer a large selection of pho. You can get beef, chicken, shrimp, veggie pho or combination of beef, brisket, meatball…

Aside Pho, Super Pho is known for Banh Mi (Baguettes). You can have a healthy lunch with a combo of Banh mi & a sip drink for only $6.60.

Along with the nutritious dishes, we also have a wonderful Jazen Tea drink menu. Some of the drinks are only available at Super Pho. We brew the tea every day and use fresh fruits.

There are many Pho restaurants in Duluth, GA, but we are proud to say that Super Pho is in its own league. We are the only Pho restaurant with an open kitchen and the first Pho restaurant with booth sitting style and we offer Happy Hour. Our décor is modern and unique. Our slogan is “Eat Well, Play Well, Live Well”. We are most proud to call our food fresh & healthy.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Success to us means enriching others’ lives by bringing families together. We get to be a part of small moments in life that turn into great memories.
