Meet Freddie Webster III

Today we’d like to introduce you to Freddie Webster.

Freddie, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I was recently told by my Mother that I was selected for a print commercial when I was very very young, but I think that turned out to be a SCAM (lol). A couple of years down the road, I got into acting in high school, I was already in the Marching Band and I wanted something else on my belt. So, I said, “Hmmmm, I’ll give drama club a try.” I gave it a try and BOOM, I did 3 plays and 1 musical! I loved the experience, working with my friends, and being able to tell a character’s story. After I graduated high school, I definitely wanted to act professionally but… I didn’t know where to start! It also didn’t help that I was practically FORCED into college (I dropped out now). I came across this Extras Casting post on Facebook, I submitted to it and I got booked on The Quad as an extra for three days. I loved the experience and I didn’t even go back to college, I got into doing a lot of extra work and learning my way through the industry. I booked a couple of independent films and shows now. I’m still learning now!

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
After high school, I was an adult and it was hard for me to find a job. I had a scholarship for college (not a full ride). I NEVER wanted to go because I hated school… so much. I was forced into college because my family thought I was wasting the scholarship. I didn’t care about that scholarship, I didn’t care about what they thought, I just knew I had to do what’s best for me and not get caught up in a place where I’m not happy. I did reach a breaking point which made me drop out, thankfully, my family understood me. Now, I’m still in the process of finding myself, I’m working on my confidence and I’m working out some life problems.

Please tell us more about your work, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
I’m an actor based in Atlanta. I also have a gaming channel on YouTube called Freddie Webico!
