This reigning 20-year-old native of Jonesboro, GA has definitely been a keen force to be reckoned with gaining the likes and follows of celebrities such as CardiB, Kehlani, Nicki Minaj and many more. Let’s not forget the request from sneaker tycoon, PUMA, for promotional campaigns.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Becoming a social media influencer and creating lyrics was the easy task but breaking into the industry is where I realized it required hard work and determination. If I wanted to be taken serious as an artist, I had to take myself serious and put in the work. As of the end of 2018, I began to hone into my talent, genre, and style and began developing my first album.
We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
My love for the rap culture and its origin was a huge influence on my upcoming album Lil Johnny Da Project, which drops August 30, 2019. With the demanding request from my loyal fans I have taken my artistic career to the next level. Although in 2018, I released my first EP on all streaming services, it wasn’t until February of 2019 I officially released my first single titled “Blackout.”
July 19, 2019 the first single off Lil Johnny Da Project was released on all streaming platforms titled, The Story Of Rosie. The second single of the album is set to release August 16th right before the official album drop date.
My fans can expect for me to give nothing short of what I always deliver… True lyrical rap. I am an advocate for bringing back true lyrical rap. With Biggie,PAC, Nicki, Will Smith, T.I, huge influence to me this album will definitely give you that lyrical story vibe that you can dance the latest dances to. My fans started out knowing me for dancing so I definitely had to give them something they could dance to.
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
Nothing, I mean I’m only 20 and so far everything has been a learning lesson that is teaching me growth. If I hadn’t gone through the things I went through I wouldn’t be here today doing what I have a true passion for. So I take every lesson and humbly grow from it.
