Meet EMACulate Vernacular of EMACulate Conceptions Media Group in Lawrenceville

Today we’d like to introduce you to EMACulate Vernacular.

EMACulate, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I’ve been into writing music for a long time, probably since I was 8. When I was young, I was mostly into Rock so that’s what I wrote but I dabbled in all kinds of music (Blues, Country, Classical, Pop, etc.). Around 1996, on a family road trip, my cousin introduced me to three six mafia and I was hooked. I started getting more into Hip Hop and snatching up every piece I could get my hands on. Alongside the Rock I was writing I started to write Hip Hop more and more.

Interestingly, Hip Hop also expanded my musical interests and led me to a true love of all kinds of music. The way that it infused samples from all genres was mind-blowing to me. I started seeking out the original songs that were sampled from and this started building the unique style I have today.

I never stopped writing through all the years but life veered me in opposite directions from pursuing my dreams. Love, marriage and my career became my main focus for a while. I needed the security that a stable career would provide for my wife and family we planned on having. I worked my way up the ranks into an engineering position at the company I work for and settled into the everyday grind for a while.

Then my daughter was born and life changed forever. I enjoyed my career and it was stable income with health insurance, 401K, good salary, the whole nine yards but I felt the need to give my baby girl more than I ever had. Even more than the stable daily grind could provide. I thought of starting a business on the side, dabbled in a few things and then ultimately asked myself what do I love to do? What do I have real skills at that could set me apart from everyone else? Music was the answer!

At this point, I started to research what I would need to set up a home recording studio, marketing and anything I could find on building a business in the music industry. I saved up around $130 and bought all the equipment I would need to start and then hit the ground running. I had wasted enough time not creating music and was determined that I wouldn’t waste anymore.

At the beginning of 2018, I started releasing monthly remixes on YouTube and SoundCloud building up the release of my debut single “Tangerine” in June. Since then it has racked up over 50.000 plays on Spotify and another 100,000 plays on various other platforms. I have also released four other singles and been featured on many collaborations with other artists and producers.

This year marks my debut EP “Dudley Boyz” which will drop in August after teaming up with longtime friend and masterful producer Don Ph3nom. We’ve got plans for a string of releases and maybe even a podcast on down the line. Only time will tell what we will do.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Can’t say I’ve run into any major hurdles yet other than balancing life and creating. Not that it negates all challenges but proper studying and planning helps a lot.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the EMACulate Conceptions Media Group story. Tell us more about the business.
We are crafting a sound and look that is unlike anything seen before. It’s as original as the people that form the organization. We specialize in telling our story over instrumentals and are currently expanding into visuals in video and merchandise form.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
Not so much luck, more a lot of prayer and hard work. With those two working simultaneously, everything just seems to fall into place.
