Meet Edie Himmel of Crazy Rumors in Kennesaw

Today we’d like to introduce you to Edie Himmel.

Edie, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Way back in 2003, before the world had access to everything at their fingertips, we took notice how the lack of natural products with any type of personality existed. Most, If not all, natural/vegan based products had one thing in common, they were all pretty BORING (to me at least)! As a kid, I adored lip smackers, but as I got older, I knew the importance of avoiding certain ingredients. Crazy Rumors set out to be the adult, healthy, plant-based version!

So, we went to work, whipping up countless batches in our kitchen. If it wasn’t perfect, it wouldn’t make the cut. After about 100 recipe trials, we landed on something AMAZING!

We were fortunate to grow up in NYC, where we had access to all the stores to share our handmade wares. The stores and customers loved them, and we knew we were on to something good!

Has it been a smooth road?
No! It’s never a smooth road! There are always bumps along the way! I still continue to try to find the perfect work/life balance. I’ve come to the conclusion, it doesn’t exist!

Wearing lots and lot of hats, and being a mom to two kids at home, I do find myself burning out at times from just overdoing it. As our business grew, we had to accommodate for the growth which in itself can be VERY challenging. I am always doing my best to take things one day at a time! On the better days, I try to enjoy the little victories! On the not so good days, I try to remind myself it’s all temporary because it really is!
