Today we’d like to introduce you to Tre Moore and Jermaine Baker.
Tre and Jermaine, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
We were both members of another band based here in Savannah, Ga. Inconsistent booking opportunities begin to cause a strain financially for both of us. We also felt that as live music became more popular in our area, we wanted to do something that was our own as opposed to being apart of someone else’s band. We were so passionate about creating our own band. We wanted to be able to provide the same opportunities to other musicians, that were given to us. We had a God-given gift, a vision, and a dream and we both got to that point that although making the vision a reality was going to require hard work, there was nothing standing in our way to bring it all to fruition. We wanted it… and it was no better time than now!!
Has it been a smooth road?
It was not a super rocky road, but we have experienced our share of trials and tribulations. Some of our struggles included finding musucians that were willing to go through the trenches with us. Because we were a new band, while we were familiar faces on the live music scene, we still had to start right back from the bottom and work our way back up. There were times we took some hard losses just to get our name our there. One of the band’s biggest struggles was losing two dedicated members to cancer… within a 4-month time frame. That took a toll on us emotionally. They were both pivotal members of our success early on and we miss them dearly. Heaven has truly gained some musical angels.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with TGLiVE (Tru Gentlemen) – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of and what sets you apart from others.
Tru Gentlemen… also known as TGLive is a live cover band based out of Savannah, GA. Our genres of music include but are not limited to Soul, R&B, Hip Hop, Funk, and many others. We specialize in providing for clients a premiere live entertainment experience. We also provide deejaying services for events as well. What sets us apart we feel is the experience you get with our live entertainment. Our musicianship and showmanship is like no other band here in our area. It’s unmatched. We are consistently applauded for our crowd interaction. It is truly an experience watching TGLive perform.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
The opportunities for growth that is available to us. The diverse interaction and networking opportunities. The ladder to success, while it may not be easy, it may require kicking a few more doors down, we are blessed that the opportunites are there.
