Conversations with the Inspiring Amber Jaii

Today we’d like to introduce you to Amber Jaii.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Amber. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Where did I start?? Hmmm. I started when I moved from Detroit to Atlanta in 9th grade. I remember the school curriculum having so many options to cater to their student’s interest. Of course, I chose a broadcasting class which was full but it opened my eyes that it was something I was interested in. I had always been into the arts since a toddler, however, I never had been presented an opportunity to take a class in something I was actually interested in. Fast forward… being back and forth between Atlanta and Detroit, I learned it was more to life and that being a successful black woman wasn’t as hard as growing up in the ghetto makes it seem. When I moved back to Detroit at 15, I became a radio host of a teen show on an Fm radio station in Detroit. Shortly before that, I had started hosting teen parties as well, making $100 a night. I was only 15. It was great! I am thankful! Kept me out of trouble! Lol

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Smooth road? No way! I’ve been broke, broke. I mean like noodles for a week plus broke. And granted I have an amazing family and I can call on them when in need and they would do what they could but I didn’t want help. I wanted the journey to mold and strengthen me. Which it did! I’ve had numerous of anxiety attack’s solely because I sat in a quiet room and overthought my career, timing, my age, etc. And I just turned 26!! Lol.. right!! I’ve also had to endure two major surgeries which resulted in me not being able to walk for three months each time. So… no, not at all has this been easy, but well worth it. Well worth it when I think of the things I overcame. Well worth it when I check my mental health and it’s all well. Well worth it when I see young kids smiling and interested in what I’m doing when I’m djing. Or when I receive beautiful DM’s of how or why I’ve inspired someone. 100% worth it when I make my family proud. Finally, if I had to give women or anyone advice, it would be to not overthink timing and the aligning of your life. We all have different journeys, path, stories. Your power is you! Be yourself. Learn yourself. Study yourself. Empower yourself. Go hard and achieve!

What do you do, what do you specialize in, what are you known for, etc. What are you most proud of as a company? What sets you apart from others?
I am a female Dj/Radio personality/Curator/Influencer. Honestly, I hate talking about myself and what I do. I love good music and speaking. Words are power. I do this because music and words touch the soul and if that’s the way to get positive vibrations to people, to inspire people to be themselves and be great then I’m beyond grateful the universe chose this path for me. I am currently on 96.7 The Beat Atl with Dj Scream on Friday’s. As well as Sirius Xm 44 HipHop Nation with Dj Scream and other members of HoodRich on Saturday night. I currently curate different weekly playlist uploaded onto Apple Music. I’ve thrown super dope networking & music events around Atlanta. A part three of a particular event coming soon! I’m also a soon to be graduate! Yes, I will have my degree! Along with more content to come for all my amazing supporters who have been asking and been patient! <3

For good reason, society often focuses more on the problems rather than the opportunities that exist, because the problems need to be solved. However, we’d probably also benefit from looking for and recognizing the opportunities that women are better positioned to capitalize on. Have you discovered such opportunities?
I truly think a woman can do any job a man can do. We are one!
