Brianna, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I have always been creatively gifted. From photography to design, I’m consistently drawn to a life where I can make ideas come to fruition. As a website designer and branding consultant, my clients present a vision for their business. They hire me to take them from where they are currently and bring them into reality where they have a vibrant and streamlined online presence.
I began designing website because I personally needed a website. When I launched my own website, friends began asking if I could design theirs. I discovered I had a talent for creating both a beautiful aesthetic and strategizing a plan to get from start to finish. The referrals snowballed into a moment of epiphany where it was apparent that I needed to take the big leap and work for myself. In the span of 48 hours, I gave notice at my job, designed my logo, got business cards, upgraded my iMac and started Websites by Bri, LLC.
I haven’t looked back since. My clients range from TV/Film companies to celebrity makeup artists to music producers. I have expanded my services to provide a wide array of services from copywriting to ecommerce website design. Soon, I’ll be launching the WXB Template Shop, an online store where clients with smaller budgets can purchase my website templates.
Has it been a smooth road?
It has not been a smooth road. Making the transition from working for a company to working for myself came with some struggles. Time management and efficiency is always an area I strive to improve in. For my own business, I needed to develop systems that help me stay organized. I also needed to structure my day and meet deadlines.
I also had issues with making my business both purpose-filled and profitable. I also had some fears that were blocking me from making the progress I desired. For this personal challenge, I worked Life & Business Shaman, Erin Newman.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Websites by Bri story. Tell us more about it.
Websites by Bri is a website design and branding company. My clients present a vision for their business or project. They hire me to take them from where they are currently and bring them into reality where they have a vibrant and streamlined online presence.
I specialize in creating solutions for my clients that make their business life easier. My websites designs are visually appealing and function efficiently. What makes me unique is that I offer website design as part of a full service that includes copywriting, branding and design of marketing materials like business cards, flyers, social media design and more. When we’re done, you’re fully equipped to take on a huge business conference or investor presentation with confidence.
I work with a wide range of businesses and projects both in Atlanta from small businesses to large-budget TV and Film productions to local music artists. Luckily, I’m also able to work remotely with clients all around the world.
How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
I see an increasing number of people becoming empowered, taking their unique talents seriously and starting small businesses. Especially in Atlanta, a land of opportunity where it’s almost become trendy to have a small business. People want to see you document online the daily “story” of your small business, There’s nothing cooler than to hand out a dope business card at a networking event and have others remark. Everyone wants to have multiple streams of income. This growth of entrepreneurs is an amazing trend if you ask me, not only because it’s good for my business, but more importantly, it’s great for Atlanta.
