Meet Labeeb Abdullah

Today we’d like to introduce you to Labeeb Abdullah.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Labeeb. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
My work is strongly influenced by music, culture and my environment. Surrounded by books, video games, cartoons, documentations, movies, and music videos from an early age, I now create in a wide range of mediums: film, photography, graphic design, sculpture, painting, fashion design, and writing. After graduating from the Savannah College of Art & Design in 2004 (SCAD), I spent the next 12 years in the music industry. I have had visual collaborations with platinum recording artists T.I., Ludacris, 2Chainz, Big Sean, Young Jeezy, Gucci Mane, Lil Jon, The Dream, Meek Mill, and many others. solo gallery shows which feature my private collection of fine art. I continue to devote time and energy to community service and fundraising for area nonprofits including The Salvation Army, Goodwill, Seeds Global, and Gateway in Atlanta and Savannah areas especially. I am also finishing a feature documentary film titled “Port Life 912- Savannah.” I am also an artist signed with SCAD ART SALES (www.scadartsales.com).

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
My road has been everything but smooth. I have seen struggles come in all shapes and forms. I look at them all as hurdles and lessons put in my path to mold me. I encourage anyone who has a bumpy path to keep pursuing whatever their heart and mind is set on. Financial, emotional, physical or spiritual struggle builds character and those who endure reaping the reward from enduring.

What do you do, what do you specialize in, what are you known for, etc. What are you most proud of as a company? What sets you apart from others?
I am an ARTIST simply put. I create in many mediums of art including film, photography, graphic design, sculpture, painting, fashion design, and writing. I would say I am most known for my photography and music videos at the present moment. I am working hard to build my name and become known for movies and documentaries as well. Those areas are more complex and I am here to put in the work to become a master of the craft. Writing scripts is my first step into the film industry. As an artist, I am most proud of impacting the people with my art and giving hope to the hopeless and confidence to those without self-esteem. I love the way art can build a person up, thats why I do it, outside of personal expression and business.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
If I could start over, I would do it the same and build from these present moments. The CREATOR doesnt make mistakes, Live and Learn.
