Today we’d like to introduce you to Melinda Santiago.
Melinda, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I was married at the young age of 24 and divorced a few years later. It definitely taught me strength and resilience… from divorce, to financial losses, to picking myself up, single mom of twins, moved around, homelessness, got back on my feet, lost my mother to cancer, lost my job, had my 4th child and claimed bankruptcy all in the same year. So many lessons learned and SURVIVED.. Now CEO of The Santiago Firm and VP/GM of Veltree Music Group.

A full Celebrity Mgmt company- which also includes Tv/Film production , Publishing , Consulting and Branding- including all facets of the industry with many celebrity clients and friends. I’m known for resurging careers, creating opportunities and just making things happen… I’m proud of the reputation I have built with S Firm. Respect and Integrity is what we stand for.. We operate in the “God Blesses Good Business“ method… as a female, people who don’t operate in the right – always try to bash women by targeting their relationships, demean their strength by suggesting we slept our way to the top…or if we are handling business (same way as a man) we are called derogatory names- furthest from the truth. What sets me apart is no matter how tempting an opportunity is- if it’s done with bad intentions/bad business or short term results- I stay away. All money ain’t good money. I pride myself in keeping and pushing people to do RIGHT business. I’m proud that In this 20 plus years of doing this- I haven’t had to go back to work for anyone else. I’ve built a solid circle of doers and result oriented team. I am my children’s example… .
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Atlanta is absolutely a great place to get started… a lot of history here and you can make a lot of connections as long as you are willing to invest in yourself. Be in the right places and don’t get clicked up in the social life. Stay committed to doing solid business , be AUTHENTIC and be accountable..
Our city could do better by making areas available to young entrepreneurs without always thinking about the mighty dollar. Help nurture the next generation of financial wealth and education . I would love to have a place where My fellow colleagues and I ,who want to give back, are able to create workshops and implement new educational tools in the school system. Set our youth up for success … as I live by, God Blesses Good Business.
