Meet Shea Jones of Label LLC in Midtown

Today we’d like to introduce you to Shea Jones.

Shea, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Ever since I was a child, I adored the capture of creativity, and also the feeling you are left with after a powerful actor performance. As time went on, it was clear that my adoration would only grow. With my parent’s encouragement, at 15 years old, I entered into talent expo, “THE Event”, in Orlando, FL. After being accepted into the expo, my mother and I drove to Orlando from Peachtree City, GA.

As I started performing in front of hundreds of LA agents and managers, I was filled with a high. I was contacted by agents/managers from the expo, but one stood out to me because she scared you know what out of me. She, Jamie Malone, stood out to me because the very first thing she said to me at the expo was, “entertain me or don’t”. I oddly gravitate to those who place fear within me. I moved to LA at 16 with my biggest cheerleader, my mother. She became a visitor, and I found myself in college courses and driving to 5 auditions in a day. I booked 5 national commercials. Jack in the Box, Aspen Dental, PSA Driving and Texting, AT&T, and MTV PSA. I booked 2 co-star roles. MTV “Awkward” ‘Ceci’, and Netflix “Stranger Things” ‘Samantha’. I was finding myself not as happy as I knew I should be. I craved depth. It leads me to understand I wanted more control over the creative. With that, I moved to Kennesaw, GA to finish my college degree. I graduated with a Media Entertainment degree, and a minor in Anthropology. I started working at Tube in Atlanta as their client specialist. While working there, I was approached by 2 sports producers on a college football tour. I took the chance. I flew to LA with the team. This ended up being the Heisman to Heisman for ESPN/Nissan.

After the shoot, they expressed they would want me to have a part in the next portion. I was thrilled. I was then the coordinator for two tours. The Heisman/ESPN tour, and the Samsung/ESPN tour. I traveled on the Samsung tour each weekend for 10 weeks. We had talent each weekend and would film a recap video for each weekend. One of the producers, Jaan Childs, also threw me into the commercial world. Academy Sports/ESPN commercial, as an ACOP. GMC/ESPN commercial, as a Production Secretary, and Aladdin Promo as a Coordinator. I was the content producer for USWNT/Coca-Cola campaign through Havas Annex with my partner, Jaan Childs. While this was all taking place, I also wanted to understand shooting. End goal being a director, I thought that had value. I have had amazing experiences, and cannot wait to dive deeper into that department. The only way to explain how I got to where I am today is for me to mention 3 things. First, is my sister. She gave me purpose and the awareness to never allow doubt to leach to my mind. I lost her at a very young age, so it’s been my driving force. Secondly, my parents and brother. They had every reason to question my wishes, yet they only filled my cup. Lastly, everyone, I have met along this journey. I couldn’t be more grateful that I ALWAYS love to show up to work. What could be better?

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
There is a reason why many Hollywood elites say “don’t do it to yourself” when speaking on getting into this industry. The struggle starts the day you realize you were bitten by the bug. My challenges began when I moved to LA at 16. Being 16, confidence isn’t what one would think. So, being constantly compared to others caused some bumps in the road. I am odd in the aspect, that I enjoy letting my challenges turn into my fuel. I lost my sister. Once I went through that, no one or thing is able to make me feel less than. Post acting, and jumping behind the camera, the struggle hatched again. I was the youngest on set and usually the only female on the production side. Learning to not see that, took a second, but in return, it gave me another hoop to focus on. All in all, every single person will have challenges. You just have to find the challenges that are worth showing up for. I have found mine.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Label LLC story. Tell us more about the business.
I started working with Jaan Childs of Label LLC.

Whether it’s creative scripting to convey your message concisely and effectively, managing your brand’s IP, or producing compelling content to serve your market — we get the job done on time and under budget.

Our company develops and produces original, branded social, and commercial content for major motion studios, television networks, and global brands. Label provides turnkey production agency capabilities for clients across the globe.

Here is what I know, when it comes to needing production services in Atlanta, you will not find a duo like ourselves.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
Luck is a funny word. I have hit backspace 12 times now on this question. I believe for my story, no, luck wasn’t a part of it. I had an amazing support system, and colleagues that believed in my dream. I believe when you show up on a small job and act as if its a Clint Eastwood run set, things will happen for you… as long as you don’t change as time goes on.
