Today we’d like to introduce you to JoEtta Foster.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
My charming story began in Decatur, Ga. the summer of 2010. Knowing nothing about the charm industry, I jumped right into what I thought was greatness. Unknowingly, I was headed straight downhill. I had fallen in love with charms and charm bracelets but had no idea about the business aspect behind the industry I had leaped into.
At this time, I was making everything by hand. It took me about three years to notice that I was only breaking even. Nonetheless, the love I had in my heart for my craft wouldn’t allow me to stop and take a break. I didn’t want to let any of my clients down by changing my prices.
Even then, I decided to keep pushing to find a better way for my business and I. I did a lot of research and in 2014 I changed my game plan. No longer will I make my bracelets by hand, but I would now be getting them manufactured. I was very overjoyed about the change my company was making. Once again, I went in blind and didn’t know I was in for a rude awakening yet again.
They say, “the third time is a charm,” and I completely agree! The end of 2017, I shut down my business and started from the ground up. Shutting down momentarily allowed me to see my mistakes. By mid-2018, I had accomplished so much and my mindset had completely changed. The beginning of 2019, I released my new logo and announced to the world that Pretty Charming & Co was revamping and we would reopen summer of this year. In my revamping stage, I received many invitations to events. I was nervous and being that I’m an introvert it was hard for me to accept invitations. I slowly got over being an introvert when it came to business and accepted my first event before my launch.
In May of this year, I began taking courses with Andrea Swart, Business strategist and owner of Busy Being A Boss. I’ve learned the business and so many helpful strategies on how to network on and offline. Years of not handling my business affairs correctly had finally come to an end!
June 15, 2019, changed my life forever. This was the day I launched Pretty Charming’s online store. A Pretty Charming Affair was a major success. I would say my charming story was powered by God’s grace and favor. Over the course of the years, my family and friends never gave up on me no matter how hard I cried or how many times I said I was going to give in, due to the stress of it all. My favorite saying is, “Only the strong survive”. Look at me surviving!
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
I’ve had major impediments in my business, but they never deterred me from seeing the bigger picture.
The greatest challenge for my business is my product being compared to Pandora. It’s truly a blessing to be compared to such an amazing company. However, I desire to one day walk in my own light.

Pretty Charming & Co is a charm and bracelet based company. Our company specializes in charming your arm with memories.
We are known for our rose gold bracelets & charms. On our website, you can locate rose gold under the collection ”Got To Have Rose”.
I’m most proud of my small business because it’s thriving, prospering, and coexisting with some of the best companies in the charm industry.
At this time, Pretty Charming & Co has nothing that sets us aside from any other charm company. Nonetheless, in 2020, we will have something that will set us aside, but unfortunately, we can’t disclose any of the information at this time.

First, I would like to give thanks to God for giving me the mind to open Pretty Charming & Co again after all, it’s been through. Then, I would like to thank my mother, Betty Dudley because when the chips were up and all else would fall, she would stand right by my side. I would also like to thank Andrea Swart for being such a great teacher and never giving up on me, even when it seems as if I wasn’t listening. Last but not least, I would like to thank my five friends for standing with and for me. El Chunk, thanks for giving me hard love when I needed it and always keeping it real! She She, thank you so much for always picking me up when I felt there wasn’t away up. GiGi (My BEST) for praying with and for me in my hardest of times, thanks for giving me that extra push even when I didn’t want it. Leah, I thank you for being the new friend people said I didn’t need. You stepped in my life at a time when I most needed you and never turned your back on me! Saving the best for last, my friend of 21 years Felicia! I can write a book about your loyalty to me and my brand. Thank you so much for staying up late nights listening to my ideas, thanks for staying when I failed, and thanks for sharing every proud moment with me!
