Today we’d like to introduce you to Ben Ivey.
Ben, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
My story started hanging out with my dad in the “audio box” at church. He was a physicist by trade and knew a lot about sound. One day, I asked him what all the knobs on the analog console meant and he began to tell me exactly what is was. Thus, my audio interest was born. Alongside that, I grew up a singer and performed for years and had a passion and love for music. Much thanks to my mother, a professional concert pianist, there was always a melody in my head!
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Haha! Absolutely not. Small business, of course, has its challenges. But like anything, it’s how you deal with adversity that gets you through. Not to mention having a great wise counsel of people doesn’t hurt either. Big decisions, small decisions, every step matters. The biggest thing I’ve learned is that it’s okay to say no. It’s okay to realize that the project isn’t your thing. Or the client, or maybe the moment. Focus on what you know deep down makes you thrive and succeed. Of course, when you first start out that’s easier said than done… but it’s so worth it.

We are known for an excellent product. Homey but commercial studio environment. The best live sound team out there. We specialize in record production, producing, engineering, mixing and live production. We are most proud of our culture. It’s about asking your clients. What do you need? If you don’t provide them what they actually need… then what are you doing for them that actually matters!
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
We plan on expanding our LOS brand to large scale recording environments, top of the line management services and high end live production. Growing one step at a time, the right way!
