Melissa, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I have always enjoyed the healthcare profession. Being a healthcare provider is one of the most rewarding professions. My healthcare career began as a medical assistant and has since advanced from a licensed practical nurse to a registered nurse, and now a licensed and board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner. My mother always encouraged her children to find a career where you are always needed and find something you enjoy doing that way it won’t seem like work. ReUp Hydration Health and Wellness was created to implement and promote self-care and wellness.
Has it been a smooth road?
Owning your own business and being a health care professional is not an effortless task. It takes a lot of discipline, consistency, and perseverance when you feel like giving up.
Patience is a virtue as a health care provider too, as it is a constant objective to educate clients about the importance of health and wellness. An immense amount of energy goes into providing great care to our clients. But one of the benefits of being a health care professional is being able to see positive results from your clients.
Some of the struggles are having to make decisions that will benefit the business but may not benefit your lifestyle.
Another struggle is having to set boundaries to push pass negativity and believe in yourself and constantly telling yourself that anything is possible if you believe in yourself.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the REUP HYDRATION HEALTH AND WELLNESS story. Tell us more about it.
ReUp Hydration Health and Wellness offers hydration therapy and we offer numerous other Energy boosters and Hydration Infusions. Another great feature we offer is health coaching and advise our clients on ways to live healthy and obtain your fitness goals.
What sets us apart is that it is owned and operated by skilled and qualified Nurse Practitioner who provide you hydration therapy and discuss ways to improve your health and wellness.
We are most proud of how we have grown in a little less than one year. We have landed a location and we will continue to offer concierge services to our clients.
How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
In the next 5-10 years, our plans are to implement an entire wellness center for our clients. You can work out, spa day, have a full meal prep bar along with juice bar. Also, able to drop the kids off at daycare where the kids will also be able to exercise.
