Meet Trailblazer Diamond Pearle Champion

Today we’d like to introduce you to Diamond Pearle Champion.

Diamond Pearle, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Diamond Pearle Beauty started my senior year at Westlake High School. I was finally of age to purchase makeup and do my own makeup before school. I took advantage to showcase my creative makeup skills to my classmates every day. Eventually, my friends and other classmates noticed my talents and suggested I become a professional makeup artist, “People will pay you for this, you are really good!” From that point on, I applied to every makeup kiosk and beauty supply store in Atlanta. My first job offer was from Arbor Place Mall. Arbor Place was out of the way from where we lived in Atlanta, so my parents decided to sponsor my dream, starting off $700 I purchased business cards, 12 shades of foundation, concealers, powders, highlighters, makeup brushes, and more. Slowly but surely, business starts booming and I landed a few makeup jobs in Metro Atlanta, my first MUA job was at Perez (iamperez) Gimmie hair salon in the Westend of Atlanta (2018). Soon after that, I became a traveling celebrity MUA, station in March 2019, I received my LLC confirmation email. I am currently a student at Valdosta State University (class of 2021) offering makeup skills around campus and traveling back and forth to Atlanta on the weekends for clients, weddings, and parties. Summer 2019, I added lashes and hair bundles for my clients to purchase off my website.

Has it been a smooth road?
It is not easy being a young entrepreneur, I can go from “I’m excited!” to “I think I’m going broke” or “This is hard” in literally less than 48 hours. I get frustrated but knowing that discipline is choosing what you want MOST over what you want NOW, has helped a lot. Also, being on time, having a confident work ethic attitude, PASSION, doing extra, offering community service, and being coachable is most important in this industry if you want to be successful.

We’d love to hear more about Diamond Pearle Beauty.
What sets me apart from other makeup artist is that I specialize in natural, true to skin makeup (weddings, baby showers). I also specialize in exotic makeup using crystals, glitters, and bold colors, this is my favorite type of makeup to do on myself and clients (giving off Euphoria HBO vibes). I’m known for good reviews and loyal clients. I am true to myself and all of my clients feel comfortable and a “good” or “positive” energy when they are in my presence.

Do you feel like there was something about the experiences you had growing up that played an outsized role in setting you up for success later in life?
Growing up, I was very insecure with myself and depressed. I was in and out of foster care and different family members homes. I always knew I wanted more for myself, and even at my lowest point in life, I was able to find faith. When I found faith within myself that is when I knew I had more to offer myself and others. I always loved art class, I always kept a sketchbook with extra art supplies at home. I also enjoyed painting my nails and collecting nail polishes. When I discovered makeup, I fell in love. I still paint today, it is one of my many hobbies.
