Meet Shana Rivers of The Atlanta Home Experts with PalmerHouse Properties in Metro Atlanta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Shana Rivers.

Shana, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I didn’t just wake up one day, see other agents or watch HGTV and decide to sell real estate, there are a few contributing factors to my love for the real estate industry. The first one, I attribute to growing up with a mother that is an awesome Interior Designer. On appointments, while she was going over furniture and fabrics I was more into the architectural designs, features, and exterior appearances of the homes we visited.

Next I was born in Newport RI, but raised in San Diego CA and loved seeing the different style of homes from one side of the country to the other. As a teen we relocated to Atlanta and after school and college I worked normal jobs, primarily administrative and customer care. The most joy I found in any position was meeting new people and helping find solutions to their concerns and seeing smiles on their faces. So lastly, I combined my love for houses, and my passion to serve people to create the perfect career path for me as a Full-time Atlanta Realtor!

Has it been a smooth road?
I started off fearful to first become self-employed after becoming so dependent on a bi-weekly check which I’m sure most entrepreneurs can identify with.

The next concern was how many real estate agents there are here in Atlanta. Most people know a few and I was uncertain of who would even hire me.

I got over both of those hurdles and continue to be successful staying in my own lane and attracting the clients that I am supposed to work with.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into The Atlanta Home Experts with PalmerHouse Properties story. Tell us more about the business.
I specialize in making sure each client is educated and well informed of the real estate process they are entering into and creating solutions to challenges they may be facing. I am most proud that we are always growing and have an outstanding reputation. Something that sets my team apart is that every quarter, we provide complimentary financial wellness and credit building events to the community as well as coaching potential buyers that may not be quite ready to buy. We stick with them until the end.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
Our city is very trendy and we attract a diverse group of people. With our increased growth we can continue to expect Atlanta to cater to the trending lifestyles such as live -work -play communities, active adult only communities, and new construction developments.
