Today we’d like to introduce you to Nate Cooper.

Nate, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
After working in the alarm and security camera industry for 10 years, I started CFA Security in 2009. I started my business in Atlanta installing mostly residential alarm systems as a Monitronics security alarm dealer. Over the last 8 years we have grown into a mostly commercial based security camera, access control, fire alarm and low voltage company by adding services as our clients requested them. Today we are proud to serve many great Atlanta area businesses such as Hilton, Pilgrim’s Pride, Sonic Drive-thru and Golden Corral.

Has it been a smooth road?
There are too many struggles that we have overcome that many businesses face: determination and money. We started this business with very little money in our pockets and lived off our savings for several months. What set us up for success that we’ve seen a lot businesses fail at is being frugal and realistic. Too many businesses open, thinking they will make tons of money so they spend money they don’t have and ultimately fail. We are also very lucky to be a service business with very little overhead. The second obstacle is staying motivated and determined. When things get rough many businesses, owners quit and give up. If it was up to my wife, I would have gone back to working for someone else after 6 months, but staying the course and remaining determined to work harder instead of quitting paid off.

CFA Security provides Georgia home and business owners complete security protection through monitored security alarms, security camera systems, access control protection. We also offer media installation and low voltage services that include speaker system installation, projection screens, TV mounting, intercom systems and cable wiring for TV, data, internet, security and fiber lines.

We are most proud to be able to offer our clients a one stop shop for all their home and business low voltage needs. We make our clients life easier by offering them one company that install both their security, media and low voltage projects without the need to call and screen various contractors.

What sets us apart from our peers is our knowledge, experience and cost for service. When it comes to knowing how each product and service should be installed, CFA Security has a better knowledge base and understating than its peers and provides its services for less money than our big-name competitors offering our clients a great value.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Atlanta is one of the top cities to start and maintain a business. Prior to starting CFA Security in Atlanta in 2009, we had a similar company in Las Vegas, NV but made the decision to close it and start over in Atlanta for all the benefits Atlanta has to offer. The biggest benefit of owning a business in Atlanta is the size of the population. With such large, diverse group of residents there is sure to be a niche for any business. There is also a great quality of business resources, groups, business peers and so forth to help anyone get started and growing. The only the city can improve on is traffic and road systems.
