Meet Elan Boynes-Page of Graphic Content in Buckhead

Today we’d like to introduce you to Elan Boynes-Page.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Elan. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I grew up on the south side of Chicago. I come from a family of school teachers and technology enthusiasts. I’ve always been artistic and knew that I wanted a job within the arts since a young age. Up until high school, the goal was to be apart of the performing arts and to possibly be on broadway one day. It wasn’t until I took a web design and graphic design class my senior of high school that everything changed. It was something about having endless possibilities at the click of a button that intrigued me! Needless to say, Graphic Design ended up being my major going into college.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
The road I’ve been on has had a few potholes but I’m noticing less and less the further I go lol. Being a college athlete definitely added extra weight on my shoulders. You have to worry about keeping your grades up, showing up to practice everyday, getting your class/ homework done along with being gone on the weekends for tournaments. It’s definitely not just about playing a game like most people think! Due to being a college athlete, I’ve been to three different schools. The first team I was on got cut from the athletics program. Then I got recruited to another school but it ended up not being academically challenging. Finally, I ended up at my dream school being able to surround my self amazing artists and being able to grow in my field. I guess three times the charm!

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Graphic Content – what should we know?
Ive started my own design company called Graphic Content! We specialize in print, digital and apparel work! My company is the most Loud, unapologetic, and in your face company that you will find today. We aren’t afraid to say or create anything that will get people thinking or will create controversy. I’m mainly proud at how open and inviting we are as a whole. It started off as just me doing freelance work but it got to a point where I had to start turning down certain opportunities due to creative limitations. After realizing how many amazing people I’ve met throughout college that are able to do things that I cant, I decided to bring a few people on board. Now we are a company that consists of a Graphic Designer, Illustrator, and a Web Designer. We are digital due to us all living in different locations but it definitely helps with business and reaching out to different audiences.

Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
My family and friends have definitely helped me along the way. My closest friends definitely helped out when things weren’t going well for me mentally. My uncle has definitely been important when it comes to giving me advice on taking chances and making business decisions. But overall my mom has been the best! She helps me out financially lol.
