Today we’d like to introduce you to Rashida Beach.
Rashida, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Knowing the importance of a strong education, I graduated from Richland Northeast high school with honors and a GPA of 4.2. I graduated from The College of Charleston with a 3.25 GPA where I received a Bachelor’s of Arts. I studied theatre with a concentration in performance and minored in business administration. I have an outgoing personality with a business side that gets the job done.
My passion for the arts has been recognized on multiple occasions in college. I was an Excel Award and Irene Ryan Nominee. I obtained the Clarence award because of my ability to be cast in multiple productions. I was selected to work with film television stage actor Roger Guenveur Smith in his production of “Performing History”. I also attended Open Jar Art Institute in Manhattan N.Y where sixty students were selected from all over America to spend a week working with Broadway professionals. I enjoyed performing but I also wanted to do more to uplift my community.
Being raised in the church taught me the importance of helping others. I was a member of Trinity Baptist church for over 20 years. I participated on the choir. I was a praise dance instructor and an advocate for the youth council. I am currently a member of The Dream Center Church located in Atlanta. Being a member of Delta Sigma Theta Incorporated, service is a part of my life. I volunteered at numerous events. From helping build homes for the poor to volunteering in; parades, health awareness, and back go school fundraisers. It brings me joy to give back to the community. Even after college, I wanted to continue to help. I donated clothes and items every year. My most recent volunteering event was this year at The Covenant House. I helped provide and prepare food for young adults that are homeless. It was gratifying to make an impact on their lives and tell them how much I have accomplished and where I come from. I wanted them to know it’s not about your past it’s about your future.
Servitude was and still is a part of me. After college, I decided to teach. I taught students in the Tier 2 program. These students needed further assistance with reading and writing. Some of my students had ADHD or a mental disorder, however I loved that about my job. Having a younger brother with autism gave me first hand experience and allowed me to act with patience and kindness. I made such a difference teaching that I was promoted to a substitute teacher and afterschool teacher and had not been working at the school for more than a year. However, I found myself wanting to elevate my skills and further my career, so I decided to move to Atlanta.
With a background in teaching and hospitality I went to Atlanta by myself to follow my dreams. I have always been an ambitious woman. In Atlanta I began teaching again and even started my own tutoring service for the youth. It wasn’t about the money, I was grateful just to impact so many kids lives. My ambition and hard work continued to pay off as I was casted in numerous films in Atlanta. I was in the musical Our Father, the HBO sitcom Satisfaction, and had a featured role in the film All Eyez on Me. However, my biggest filming accomplishment thus far has been working as an MTV personality and winning on the most recent show Are You the One? Second Chances. I have been performing since the age of three. More than a triple threat I act, sing, dance, model, voice-over and play the flute. Even though I love performing I wanted to find something where I can help people and at the same time learn and grow. Real Estate has been knocking at my door for years and I finally had enough courage to go for. I must make a difference in my community and help others.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
There were definitely many struggles along the way. I had to find my own way in another city and had really no friends are family, but I NEVER GAVE UP… No matter what I would go through. I would continue to be resourceful and build my knowledge and skills.
There is always the financial struggle- can I pay for this, can I invest in this, will I be able to eat this, etc. Not having enough gave me anxiety. But I found how to solve this by changing my mindset and telling myself I deserve everything I want. I practiced being thankful for whatever I had.
Mental struggle: Can I do this? Do I believe in myself? Do I have the confidence? Self-doubt, oftentimes we can be our own worst enemy. Applying for so many gigs and not getting a callback or always feeling like I was lacking something. I honestly had to let everything go and tell myself FORGER IT people are going to judge me anyway. FORGET IT if I ask and they say no its not the end of the world. I told myself if I believe in GOD and GOD is within me then what am I afraid of.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Beach House Real Estate story. Tell us more about the business.
RZBEACH LLC is a business that advocates for creative marketing and entertainment.
I created my own company in which I do a plethora of things to help others.
RZBEACH LLC began as a clothing line in which I was selling custom made clothing, beanies, and hats. I was inspired to make a clothing line after I got off the first show with MTV. I wanted to be able to give my fans something for an affordable price. Now RZBEACH LLC is a business that inspires creativity for business owners and artist. We are also a production company developing dope visuals to help highlight others. We also advocate for fitness, hosting fitness workshops and encouraging peers to get physically active.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I am not sure if its luck. I do think the universe feeds whatever the mind gives it. When I applied for MTV “ARE YOU THE ONE?” I was in one of the lowest moments in my life. I was feeling alone in another city, lost and depressed. In fact, I was so down that I put my heart on the page when I applied for the TV SHOW. I wasn’t afraid to be vulnerable and honest about my terrible relationships and many failures with guys. I can look at things as good or bad luck… but I feel as if we can help control a lot more than what we know. So the same bad luck the terrible situation I was in being broke and embarrassed and ashamed was the same reason I had the fire under my butt to give MTV all I had. I mean I felt like what can I lose?
I think that mindset plays a major role in our destiny. Telling yourself I can do this, this will happen to me, I will meet someone that will change my life. Money comes easy to me, I am happy… instead create your reality so you don’t have to depend on luck.
