Meet Xavier Coombs of Love Fellowship Church Atlanta in Southeast

Today we’d like to introduce you to Xavier Coombs.

Xavier, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Love Fellowship Church Atlanta started as a result of a desire to reach the unchurched and de-churched. It is also our goal to empower those who have been marginalized by the eurocentric church and empirical systems.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t been an easy or smooth road. We have struggled to find a place to worship and raising finances to launch. It has also been an issue blending leadership styles and bringing those visions of leadership together in a cohesive vision.

Please tell us about Love Fellowship Church Atlanta.
We are a new church that is coming to Atlanta, We are theologically progressive bringing a new way of doing church and ministry to Atlanta. It is our goal to become a model of ministry that is used throughout the country. I am proud that our church leadership are all graduates of seminary, specifically the ITC.

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
My favorite memory from childhood is spending time with my maternal great grandmother, Big Mama. It was always a treat to go to her house and glean from her wisdom. It was one of the first places that I truly felt loved unconditionally although at the time I could not articulate what it was. Truly in her hands, I felt safe.
