Today we’d like to introduce you to Natalie Heatley.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Natalie. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Every girl needs a diary, right? In 2017, I started my blog to channel my thoughts, feelings and healing experiences behind a life of domestic violence, mental illness (depression) and obesity. Once I began online journaling, I quickly realized I was not ready to delve deep, just yet. I had no serious commitment and would blog occasionally! March 2018 was my turning point! I realized that my testimony needed to be shared with other women like me. There are so many moms that are persevering despite the inside and outside forces against them! That strength deserves a spotlight! As I began sharing, also added product review to help busy moms make the best choices for themselves and their families. But the content doesn’t end there! On the blog, you can also catch my best style and beauty tips too!
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Omg, no! By smooth you mean bumpy, right? This road has been tough. Many days and nights, I found myself praying and crying over the ups and downs of this journey. Will they connect with me? Am I being true to who I am? Is my vision being captured? Are women leaving the blog inspired, motivated and encouraged? My heart wrenches at the thought of being superficial and I wanted to be as genuine as possible; but we know being “real” causes us to heal, right? This process has exposed places in my heart that still needed repair. I do realize everyone isn’t like me and that’s okay! BUT, I want the women that encounter me to find a kindred spirit and know they are not alone!
Freely Nat – what should we know? What do you do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I am a mom and lifestyle blogger that specializes in sharing the ugly truths of mother/womanhood. If you ever catch my Instagram stories they are REAL life in REAL time! There is no styled ensemble, perfectly made-up face and intricately combed hair. In those moments, my audience is given motherhood in the RAW! (From my perspective, of course!) As a company, I am most proud that my experiences, which once lead me into a life of guilt and shame, is now a platform used to touch lives! It warms my heart when I receive messages from moms who say they needed to hear exactly what I had to say. What makes me different is my authenticity! I am NOT your cookie cutter mom. Currently, I do not have the big house, drive a really fancy car or have the husband and dog (YET). I am simply Natalie! The mom without all the answers but doing life BOLDLY with my amazing children.
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Success to me means feeling whole. I want to know that in every area of my life I’m thriving. That means I’m happy, the kids are doing well and my stress is at an all-time low and the coins are looking right!
