Introducing Rude Dude & The Creek Freaks in East Atlanta Village

Today we’d like to introduce you to Anthony Bayness, Blake Lumry, Ryan Stark, and Zachary Estess.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
We originally formed in the summer of 2016 in Savannah, Ga as a three-piece psych garage punk band playing as many shows as we could. In spring of 2017, we recorded an album called Acid Bath with our friend Devin Smith. Shortly after, we went on tour in August of 2017. When we got back home from tour we added 2 other members, a second guitar and keyboard player which lead to us writing a new record as a 5 piece and recording an LP in February of 2018 with Jesse Mangum of The Glow Recording Studio in Athens, Ga and released through Graveface Records on August 31st of 2018. In September of 2018, we went on a month-long tour and returned home and continued to play shows all over the Southeast including Atlanta which lead us to our move here. We are now a four-piece.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It’s not always easy, some days are better than others, but we continue to work hard. We’ve been extremely fortunate and lucky to have met some great people that have helped us along the way. We’ve lost some members, had our van break down multiple times on tour (nothing out of the ordinary) but we’re still here doing what we love, making music together as best friends.

Please tell us about Rude Dude & The Creek Freaks.
We’re a rock n’ roll band focusing on playing live shows. Open your mind and learn to play the theremin.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
We wouldn’t change a thing. Everything is a learning experience.

We’ll be playing 10/22 in Asheville, NC at The Mothlight with Shaken Nature and Frankie and The Witch Fingers, 10/24 in Atlanta at 529 with Tummyache and DD Island and leaving for our tour with Shaken Nature on 11/7 starting at Murmur Gallery with Timothy Eerie, A Drug Called Tradition, and Shaken Nature.
