Today we’d like to introduce you to Carl Metellus.
Carl, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Five years ago, I was working for Delta Airlines in Augusta, GA when I suddenly got let go from my job. At the time, I had just started my business offering basic computer repairs in the area. After being let go, I had no choice but to rely on my business for income and having just started, it was not easy to say the least. Eventually, I lost everything including my apartment, and my car so I decided to move to Atlanta, GA to join my family as it was the most economical thing to do after losing my job but it turned out that it was quite beneficial for my business as well. Though it took some time but eventually I found my footing in the Atlanta area with my business.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
In the beginning, it was not a smooth road. There were good days and bad days. Considering that my business was officially established in Feb 2014 and I got let go in March of the same year from my job I had many days where I was scrambling to make ends meet. One of the main struggles was not having access to capitals to properly run the business. Not enough funds for marketing to bring in more customers made it difficult to bring it a steady and proper income throughout the months in the early years. During those times, I also learned that I had some real supporters and friends who would support my business and who also poured into me via words of encouragement and wisdom and for that I am grateful.
CBM PC Solutions, LLC – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
CBM PC Solutions provides Information Technology services. We specialize in Management and Monitoring services for small business and as well computer repair for business and regular consumers alike. Over the years, we have built quite a reputation on Thumbtack that I am very proud of especially after having received Best In Atlanta award in Computer Repair for 2014 & 15 and Top Professional award in Atlanta for year 2016 -2019 which is only achieved by less than 3% of Thumbtack. Currently, we are rated higher on Thumbtack than the Best Buy Geek Squad. What sets us apart is the customer experience and service. Customer service can either make or break your business so we make sure that every customer feels like their concerns are also ours and that we are there to take very good care of them. It’s also the quality of service they receive from us. It’s not just about making money for us it’s about providing solutions hence the name CBM PC Solutions.
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
I just recently celebrated five years in business and I super proud of that. According the feedback I got if you make it five years, then you’ve made it over the hump. I am super proud that I did not give up at year 2 or 3 when I would go weeks sometimes without making any income. Another one of the proudest moments I have is the day when I signed a contract with a business to provide tech support service for them. That moment represented a huge milestone for me in my career.
