Today we’d like to introduce you to Travis Malloy.
Travis, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I grew up in church. That’s where I fell in love with music. That’s when I saw for the first time, what music and spirituality combined could do for a life. Growing up in a very diverse home musically, I was influenced by many artists, from Jodeci, Charlie Wilson and Earth, Wind and Fire, all the way to Kirk Franklin, John P. Kee and Vanessa Bell Armstrong. I later on enrolled into the Pittsburgh High School for the Creative and Performing Arts, where I studied in the vocal department for four years. Immediately following high school, I jump straight into the music industry, writing producing and performing my original music around the country at conferences, conventions and festivals. Recorded my first album in 2009 which spiraled into many other projects, mixtapes and singles that I’ve released over the span of 10 years. In 2015, I wrote and produced a song entitled “Holy” for the Grammy Award Winning Gospel Artist, Dorinda Clark Cole. She featured that song on her album “Bless This House” which was later nominated for a Grammy. In 2016, I wrote and produced a song entitled “All The Glory” which was recorded by BET’s Sunday Best runner up, Alexis Spight. That song peaked at #5 on the Gospel Billboard Charts and landed me my first ASCAP Award win! From there I went on to write and produce for Fred Hammond and many more. I recently just released my 5th project entitled “Faith Journey” which features production from the Trap King “Zaytoven” and the Floacist from the Grammy-nominated group (Floetry). So many ups and downs in this industry. Rejection and disappointment. I thank God for my friends and family who have covered me and encouraged me to keep going on this “Faith Journey”. The key to success is to never quit!
Has it been a smooth road?
In this industry, you will face rejection many times. Everybody won’t understand your dreams or see your vision. But now that I’m older, I can appreciate those times because that disappointment gave me the fuel to KEEP PUSHING!

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I love Atlanta because of the many examples of black excellence and success. It’s a beautiful city. I would have to say the least thing I like is the traffic. But I’m not complaining! Haha..
