Meet Amanda Farrell of Farrell’s Frame and Design in Rome

Today we’d like to introduce you to Amanda Farrell.

Amanda, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
As a teenager freshly out of high school, I began to search for a job. I stumbled across an ad on Craigslist searching for a custom framer. While I had no experience in the industry at that time, I knew I had always been very creative, artistic and enjoyed working with my hands. I applied for the job, and after the interview process was given the opportunity to train under several custom framers with years of experience. Shortly after beginning work in this industry, I became aware of my love for the craft that is custom framing and decided that one day I would have a shop of my own. Over the 13 years since I decided that was what my goal was I have worked in several frame shops including mom and pop shops and corporations. Working in the corporate world helped me master another skill, which is fine art reproduction. Our shop offers both custom framing and fine art reproduction services. With hard work, determination and time in the industry, I have graduated from a framer-in-training position to management positions and now to owner. If you would like to read the full story of how our frame shop came to be on Broad Street in Rome GA, please head over to our website and check out this link, you will get to know me, my husband, and our employees and learn about our journey into what we refer to as “Frame-land Adventures”!

Has it been a smooth road?
Taking the plunge into the world of business owners was very exciting, but equally terrifying for my husband and me. As we began to solidify the plan to open up Farrell’s Frame and Design, we realized all the things we still needed to learn and achieve to be able to turn this plan into a reality. Working side by side, we have faced every obstacle that we have been presented and have been able to learn and grow from the experiences. While the road has not always been completely smooth, together, we have been able to turn even the rocky conditions into a constructive and enjoyable learning experience that has helped us get ahead, rather than slow us down.
