Today we’d like to introduce you to Heather Leech.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Heather. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
When I was 14 years old, I got the opportunity to do branding for a local barbeque joint in Senoia, Georgia. That was when I realized this thing that I spent all my time doing could be a career. Then later, I got accepted into my dream school, Savannah College of Art & Design. One of my mentors told me after being accepted, “talent got you through the door, but hard work will keep you there.” I always kept that in mind, and in true SCAD fashion, I spent many sleepless nights working on growing as an artist. I continue to live by that phrase and everything I learned at my time at SCAD. I had goals set for myself that I thought would come way later in my career, but not a year after graduation, I got to work with my dream client, Harley Davidson. Every day, I am blessed to be working in an industry that I love and being able to share my passions through my art.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I have been very blessed with the opportunities that I’ve received and clients I have gotten to work with. However, there are always struggles along the way. You question yourself often, but every time you move forward and place those doubts behind you, you’re often rewarded.
We’d love to hear more about your business.
I love being able to offer a wide variety of services to my clients. Whether it’s custom invitations, company branding, children’s illustrations, portraits, custom illustrations, and more. I work really hard to make sure that every project meets the clients’ individual needs. My hope with every project is that I am able to make their idea a reality with my art.
What were you like growing up?
I was an imaginative, fun-loving kid. I was interested in animals, Harleys, cartoons, and video games. All of which are passions that are still showcased in my art today.
