Today we’d like to introduce you to Nader Elchaar.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Nader. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I started drawing as a child and continued to draw over the years, improving myself drastically. I got the idea of exposing my art further when I switched my major from Marketing over to Graphic Design at Georgia State University. I found myself unhappy focusing on Marketing and pursued something I would be more passionate about and enjoy further down the line, which was Graphic Design. I decided to create an Instagram page in August of 2018 so I could start promoting my art and creating custom pieces for people who found interest in my creativity. Here we are a year later and I am still learning about ways to help expose my art further.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I honestly would not say it has been a smooth road, I wouldn’t say success is a smooth road in general. It has been difficult at times to get an audience to recognize your work and appreciate the time put into it. We live in an extremely competitive world now and it can sometimes be discouraging in the art world or in general. Sometimes you see amazing works of art that make you feel like your creativity isn’t good enough to be out there, or it can make you feel like you should give up. However, it is a competitive environment and I urge whoever out there is pursuing art, to keep pushing themselves and improving on their creativity. It isn’t a smooth road now, but we will eventually get there.
We’d love to hear more about your business.
My business is basically me creating custom works of art for clients or printing my existing works for them in many ways. If they see a work of art they like, they can get it printed on shirt, mug, hat, etc. or also receive a digital/print copy if they so desire. I would say I mainly specialized in creating custom pieces for others and creating works that come from my mind as well. As a business, I am proud that I am constantly pushing myself to improve and help inspire those who love creative works in general. I would say what sets me apart from others is that I am a color blind artist? I’m honestly not too sure, I don’t really like comparing myself to others because we all think differently and have different creative aspects within us. Everyone is different and that should be embraced more.
What were you like growing up?
Growing up, I was so focused on pleasing people and fitting in with the crowd, but I learned in the long run that doesn’t necessarily always work or make you feel complete mentally. I would say that my personality has changed over time, I’m a lot more guarded and focused on my mental health than I was growing up. When I say mental health, I mean loving yourself, focusing on yourself, and spending more time with YOU. I am more protective of my self than ever before. My interests however, really haven’t changed much, I still love to travel, dance, create art and try new things. So interest wise, not much as changed for me honestly.
