Today we’d like to introduce you to Elizabeth Quinn.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Elizabeth. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I started my Journey with Modeling in October of 2018 with the sole purpose of gaining self-confidence. I’ve always struggled with Mental Illness and stepping out of my comfort zone was terrifying but once I did, I realized how many people I was able to help step out of theirs. I decided that I would make it my goal to reach out to as many people as I could and help them in their journey to self-love and body positivity!
2020 will the start of my new Company: “Aquarius by Design”, where I will make fashion accessories and Clothing to cater to plus size/ curvy Women as well as Mental Health Coaching, Social Media Training and Modeling. I just want to build people up, especially Women who feel like they have to look a certain way or act a certain way to be accepted in Society.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has definitely been challenging, The Internet isn’t always the best place for Confidence Building but it can also help in so many ways.
Social Media only shows us fragments of people’s lives and I think there is a lot to be said for those who remain humble and share their stories without the Sugar Coating. I try to be that person as best I can because I don’t want people to look at my life as one they could never achieve.
I’ve been called Fat, Lazy, a Pig, a Beached Whale… I’ve been Slut shamed for being comfortable with my sexuality and the skin that I am in. Anyone who knew me before last year could tell you that that’s an amazing achievement for me, especially since I am the heaviest I have ever been. Because I have taken so much time to build myself up and bring myself to a Confidence level I thought I would never reach, it no longer bothers me when People say those ugly things. I know in my heart that there are more people in need of someone like me than there are People who hate my existence.
Fun Facts:
Anxiety disorders are the most common mental illness in the U.S., affecting 40 million adults in the United States age 18 and older, or 18.1% of the population every year.
Anxiety disorders are highly treatable, yet only 36.9% of those suffering receive treatment. People with an anxiety disorder are three to five times more likely to go to the doctor and six times more likely to be hospitalized for psychiatric disorders than those who do not suffer from anxiety disorders.
Anxiety disorders develop from a complex set of risk factors, including genetics, brain chemistry, personality, and life events.

Every 62 minutes at least one person dies as a direct result from an eating disorder.
Eating disorders have the highest mortality rate of any mental illness.

While there are a lot more people than ever before speaking on Mental Health and Body Positivity, it is not nearly enough to make the change that this world desperately needs.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Aquarius by Design – what should we know?
I’ve got to be honest, for the first six months of my Modeling Career I did nothing but free shoots and managed my Social Media pages but I saw my follower count continue to grow and still only 5% of that number were female. I wasn’t blogging enough, I wasn’t sharing MY STORY anymore. I knew I needed to make a major change if I wanted to keep moving in a positive and meaningful direction.
2020 will the start of my new Company: “Aquarius by Design”, where I will make fashion accessories and Clothing to cater to plus size/ curvy Women as well as Mental Health Coaching, Social Media Training and Modeling.
I will also be working with Spencer’s Gifts for their Holiday Campaign and I plan on working with a few more well-known companies in the near future.
I think I am most proud of myself for Realizing my worth and not continuing to settle for less. This will be the start of many more things to come so I hope you stay tuned!
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
I think that anyone can do anything if they do it with Passion, Self-Love, Gratitude and Strength.
In my opinion, believing in one’s self is the best form of Love there is!
