Today we’d like to introduce you to Latravia Cropp Traystylze.
Latravia, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I started off at 12 years old, braiding hair in New York where I was born and raised and resides with grandparents… I moved to Atlanta in 2003 and completed my last two years of high school. Shortly after, I enrolled at SOUTHERN CRESCENT COLLEGE formally know as Griffin technical college where I completed my MASTER COSMETOLOGY course and shortly after, received my license.
In 2010, returned to school to obtain my master’s cosmetology instructor license at SOUTHEASTERN BEAUTY COLLEGE in Stockbridge, GA.
I’ve held weave training classes in Stockbridge, GA.
I have 15 years of experience in the beauty industry
I really enjoy the transformations and confidence that a simple hairdo gives our beautiful woman.
Being able to use my talent to give a woman a different look makes me feel amazing.
At five years old, due to drug-related reasons our me and my siblings was taken away from our mom in that same years, my dad was killed in a car accident. We were lucky enough to have grandparents who got us so that we didn’t have to go into a foster home. Shortly after, my grandparents adopted us.
Growing up and having all these changes occurs molded me into being the person I am today. This is a brief version of my life story and how I’ve gotten to the point I’m at today. I hope that this could inspire someone.
I jumped into the beauty industry with two feet and never looked back. Best decision I have ever made in my life.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Before graduating high school, I had a plan of how I would take on life and be successful. I followed my plan as followed with just a few stumbling blocks that strengthened me as a person and pursued me even towards success. I gave birth to my beautiful children. To provide a good life for them, they didn’t have to endure some of the things I did as a child, I know I had to push harder. One of my goals was also to receive my bachelor’s degree in business management for the knowledgeable and stable business foundation. I’ve obtained my associates in business and still in the midst of completing my bachelor’s due to LIFE REASONS, however, it will get done.
The death of my grandparents who raised me and other family members close to me also impacted my life during this journey of life. This left me with no parents or grandparents and the oldest of my siblings who had to make things happen
We’d love to hear more about your business.
I’m a full services salon that offers natural hair care, weave and makeup services. I do not have a special area of concentration because I’m great and everything I do from short to long weave or weave or natural hair.
I’m known for getting clients in and out in a timely fashion with quality hairstyles. The time spent in a salon, a lot of time discourages women from going to get their hair done.
As moms, we hold a great amount of responsibility in the household and barely have time to care for ourselves. This is why I concentrate on not only our clients being satisfied but I try to make their visit as smooth, pleasurable and short as possible and this sets me apart from other hairstylists.
I am proud of my company’s growth and ability to service a lot of my clients for over ten years. When I receive new clients, my goal is to have them back in my chair for life. Great customer service, client satisfaction and client repetition is my plan for each one of them. I’m always accepting new clients.
What were you like growing up?
Growing up, I was quiet, however, I have always very fashionable and into my hair, clothing, and shoes. I was already creative and unique.
