Today we’d like to introduce you to Todd Wolff.
Marmi is the retail division of Wolff Shoe Company, a 4th generation family owned business headquartered in St. Louis, MO and has been in the shoe business for over 100 years.
After many years in the wholesale business the company decided to showcase all of their brands in a retail store featuring the complete line of Vaneli and Sesto Meucci along with select handbags and accessories and opened their first Marmi store in 1986 and has grown to over 20 stores nationwide from Madison Avenue in New York City to Newport Beach, CA.
The company also has a Marmi website and catalog featuring all of our brands and products.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
We along with the rest of the nation went through tough times during the recession 10 years ago and were forced to shutter stores where necessary but have done well since and have continued to thrive.
The latest challenge facing all retailers has been the rise of online shopping often at the expense of brick and mortar sales migrating to the web. While this has affected us as well we firmly believe our stores are a key part of our business and future. Shopping online is convenient but in the case of shoes they still have to fit often causing the customer to return the shoes or exchange them several times before they find the right fit. At Marmi, we pride ourselves in customer service and our people are trained experts in fit and style advice so when a customer comes to one of our stores they are welcomed and treated to a fun and memorable experience that puts them in a comfortable shoe that fits their lifestyle and keeps our customers coming back to our stores even when it is more convenient to shop online.
