Being a natural healer is something that has been inside me, since I was a little girl. I decided to become a nurse to help and heal others. My journey throughout 10 years of nursing lead me to even more aspects of healing, such as herbs and natural cures. After 10 years in the field of nursing, I decided it was my time to give back to the people and the community. I decided to open my own Home Care Agency. The growing population of the elderly is still on the rise. More and more of our elderly are needing help at home. This kind of care keeps them from being institutionalized in a hospital or nursing home, and remain in a loving and supportive environment. We also specialize in spinal cord injury patients of all ages and hospice.
Has it been a smooth road?
It has not been an easy road at all. I tried over and over and over again to open this agency and failed several times. I think the hardest part was finances. Opening this kind of business by yourself, can kill your pockets if you’re doing it all alone. My fiancé and I devised a plan. I would work at night and remove my son from daycare. This freed up $800.00 a month, so I could rent an office space. Which is a prerequisite by the state to establishing one of these businesses. So I lost many nights of sleep during this journey. I’m not some franchise or wealthy entrepreneur. I am just a girl with a dream. Processing paperwork for the state was not easy either. It took 10 months just to get my license from the state, meanwhile, office expenses and other business-related bills were piling up. I think I was almost at my breaking point, when I was finally approved.

Careamid Services is a Home Care Agency, we specialize in elderly care, such as dementia, Alzheimer’s, etc. We provide companions, CNA’s and skilled Nurse visits by an LPN or RN. We provide 24-hour care in our client’s home. We also specialize in spinal cord injury (Wheel chair bound) and hospice patients. What sets Careamid apart from other home care agencies it that, we are actually nurse owned and operated. We have been in the home care field for over 10 years. We have actually worked in client’s homes and know exactly what they need. Which is why Careamid is consistently surpassing our client’s expectations. Through professionalism, trust and excellence, which forms relationships for generations.
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
I do feel like Atlanta is a great city for businesses. I would tell people starting out “to do some research”, offer services that are unique and different. Being creative in a practical field, can bring your business growth. Atlanta can be saturated with the same businesses, but everyone is different and putting your own personal spin on something practical, can make you stand out.
