Today we’d like to introduce you to Julian Morgan.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Julian. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Well, I guess the journey kind has just begun in a sense. I’ve only been taking pictures for about seven months or so really, that’s when I got my camera around March. As a kid though, It was always fascinating to me like looking at a school book and you see a picture of an erupting volcano or some gazelle running across a grassland, like how do they take those pictures so perfectly?! How are they soo close or right in that perfect moment to capture that moment? And I probably asked for a camera for my birthday or Christmas and I had disposable cameras, but I never got an actual camera! So I always had an eye for it and I’d take a picture just on my iPhone of my friends, some graffiti, really of whatever I deemed cool at that moment. Now having an actual camera though it has allowed me to capture ultimately what I’ve wanted over the years and some new ideas too.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Hmm, its a learning process using a camera, learning lighting, certain angles, but all that comes more and more over time, what I can say the struggle is really about is just the availability. And people bailing out on me which is just kinda lame *kanye shrug*. As of late things have been very smooth, my recent shots just had me smiling like yeah man these are a fire I can’t wait to post them on Instagram!
Please tell us about your work.
I am a freelance photographer! I’d say I’m just proud of the people and experiences I’ve had. Everyone that I have worked with has just been really down to earth humans, and they all have something else going on if its a business or someone’s a trainer, it is just cool seeing people do what they want to do and be honest within themselves about it. Shout out to y’all! What sets me apart from others is I have my eye and vision I want to create, as do others. But when you see a photography page you may see a lot of studio pictures or just one or two ranges of photos, and I don’t and will not be boxed in. I want to do it all, go take a rain forest trip to shoot a rare breed of birds, or take pictures of someone’s food to help with a restaurant menu, just life, I want to capture all parts of life.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I’m taking things one step at a time honestly cause life to be unexpected a lot, but yes I do have some big plans! I don’t want to spill the beans on my ideas so you guys will just have to strap in and enjoy the ride. But by this time next year I do want to have a viewing of my work, little art venue kind of vibe maybe some finger food in rotation with some wine. It’s happening to trust me.
