Today we’d like to introduce you to Xavier Julius.
Xavier, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Starting at the young age of 16 years old, I was denied the opportunity to walk for a very popular fashion show. As I do, every situation now I used that no as fuel to create my own lane and opportunity. I then decided to have my own fashion show and put myself in whatever position I wanted to be in. Which was only suppose to be a one time thing for my 17th birthday celebration, however, after the overwhelming amount of designers, models and performers reaching out to me telling me how thankful they were for me allowing them the opportunity to have a platform to grow and showcase their art was beyond me and I knew then that this is bigger than me. I knew that God had a calling on my life to help others who may have faced that same rejection or closed door. So in 2013, I created LX Productions LLC, a Production company geared to help promote the newest talents such as dancers, models, designers, etc. and also offer services that can help anyone who has an idea but needs that additional structure and push. My talented team and I are here to help! I’ve been blessed to produce over 10 events such as runway shows, model castings, dance competitions and so many more with the hopes that I will be able to gain that same support that I received in my hometown Alabama here in the great city of Atlanta.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It most certainly hasn’t been a “smooth road” it’s definitely been a few bumps and potholes on this journey but I refuse to let it stop me. Being so young in this industry I had to learn how to stand my ground and mean what I say at an early age. Most times people would not take me seriously when I would go and look at a venue or inquire about a service because of mostly my age so I would have to really make sure I have everything together and stay on top and ahead of the game. It doesn’t bother me as much now because I love a challenge. Also, with having to sponsor everything on my own, it has sometimes been a bit overwhelming but as always I get it done and I’m learning from my mistakes each step of the way. I had my first event inside of a recreation center and shortly after, God blessed me to have my events sale out in one of Birmingham’s biggest convention centers also having media coverage from the radio, billboards and even the news! Talk about growth and the power of not giving up.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about LX Productions, Fashion LX Unisex Boutique & The Xay Xperience – what should we know?
LX Productions is a production company that can bring any vision to life all while being on a tight budget. We pride ourselves in our diverse & experienced team of talented individuals and participants. Fashion LX Is fairly new to LX Productions umbrella but it is a unisex boutique meaning a lot of our items both Men & women can wear launching Spring of 2020. The Xay Xperience is the wardrobe brand that I birthed in 2018 while serving as a personal assistant. My wardrobe styling is different from most wardrobe stylist in Atlanta. While most are going for what’s trendy & what’s now, I pride myself in my ability to create timeless looks for your everyday women in television or corporate America. Whenever I watch movies or talk shows, I always admire the wardrobe with hopes that one day, I will be able to have my creations showcased on such an awesome platform on a consistent basis. I am known mostly for my fashion show productions and also wardrobe styling. I’ve worked wardrobe onset of various networks such as TVOne, WETV, BET, and 11Alive. I have also worked with a few celebrities as well while doing that and I’m extremely proud of myself for accomplishing so much within my wardrobe career with only being in business for one year now.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
What I like the best about Atlanta is the fact that there’s is SO MUCH opportunity here and the support is so awesome from strangers. It motivates me to be in a city where there are multiple like-minded individuals. We have so many resources right at our fingertips if we network correctly. What I like the least about Atlanta other than the traffic would be how SOME of my colleagues in the entertainment industry are very judgmental and are in cliques where if I’m not in their circle, they feel as though they can’t support or assist me with anything even if they knew it would help me. However, I think that the problem isn’t only in Atlanta.
