Meet Hoodrich Chris

Today we’d like to introduce you to Hoodrich Chris.

Let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Growing up, I always had a passion for music but never inspired to be an Artist. I would even do freestyles on the bus or at different school events when I was younger and received positive feedback but didn’t think too much about it. But I knew I wanted to have a career in music, but more so A&R type work. I even started Jam of the week on IG where I posted the hottest songs (in my opinion) every Wednesday to keep my followers updated back in 2013. It wasn’t until I came home from Savannah State when I inspired to be an artist. Being from the Atlanta area, I knew several producers, established artist. and even engineers so it was pretty simple to get started.

Just had to figure out the game. I began working with top producers right away to get my sound right such as Bizzie Made and Bricks Da mane who had already worked with some of the hottest artists like Young Thug, Lil Baby, Gunna, Kevin Gates even Drake. I then released my first Mixtape titled First Take in 2017. I continued to grow past several obstacles even losing all of my music started from scratch at one point and from being in an out of jail in 3 different states. I didn’t lose faith and was rewarded with one of my songs being in the ATL TOP 20 list which goes out to over 10,000 plus DJs. Now I’m working with nominated producers such as mooktoven, 17 on the track, gudda tay, spiffy global and many more. I’m very fortunate to still be here and only time will tell how further my success will go.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Not smooth at all. There is no manual to have a good music career. Just have to take it one day at a time. I was scammed out of money, studios were shut down that had my songs there that will never be released. Even getting the right marketing strategy is a challenge. And mainly getting the Djs to break your record.

Hoodrichchris – what should we know? What do you do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I came up with  hrc as the name because I always want to represent consistency until it happens.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
Mainly getting my song “Think I Could” on ATL TOP 20 list because thats one of the biggest platforms in the music industry. Finally meeting more executives to expand my career.
