Today we’d like to introduce you to Oluwatosin Adedoyin.
Oluwatosin, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Entrepreneurship began for me in high school, I began as a makeup artist & I realized that I wanted to do so much more, so I decided to pick up a new hobby. Later on in college, I asked my parents for a sewing machine for Christmas & I started watching videos and creating clothes for myself. Eventually, my peers began asking me where I got my clothes from & I would tell them I made it & started taking orders. I didn’t take it seriously until college and that’s when I knew I could make this a career.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
The biggest struggle for me when I first started was balancing school and taking orders for the students at my university (Towson University). Once I graduated I landed a job in my field of Information Systems, which demanded so much more of my time but I didn’t want to stop making clothes. So even now I focus on balancing my work life, social life and doing the things I love outside of making clothes, like traveling with friends and family. I’m beginning to prioritize better & understanding what is most important to me.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Success to me is two things:
1). Pursuing a goal while reminding myself that there is always more to be done & thinking about how I can help others near and far in the process.
2). Also continuously seeking knowledge and applying it to my day to day tasks. Life is about lessons & to be successful I believe it is good to look back on your journey to see how far you have come and how far you are willing to go.
